FSW will be trimmed in 2011

                                    2010             2011   % change
Federal skilled worker visa   69,915   55,900   - 20
Provincial nominees visas   36,650   40,300   + 9
Total economic class visa   161,630   151,000   - 6.6

Source: Citizenship and Immigration Canada/Access to information release
http://thezieglersblog.com/2011/02/new-immigration-quotas-not-pleasing-industry-groups-either-whats-behind-all-this/

****“The numbers show the government will issue about 56,000 federal skilled worker visas overseas, down from nearly 70,000 issued last year...” (A 20% reduction)

It means more scissors on FSW applicants and stringent policies to come in 2011.

Not necessarily I opine... I am sure those who have started with In process will sail through.... the trimming will perhaps affect the new applicants to my general understanding.....

arlnr,

we are the witness only, its CIC , they will decide. I have seen many donkeys slipped through but sometimes unfortunately chopping fall over the real ones.  I believe fariza has a ground to say that but my mind still says very very strict policies will be applied from now on. CIC mentioned that they will not tolerate people going there and hovering on the streets with no jobs and more those PRs would find and get survival jobs more they would steal jobs from ordinary Canadians. They never tolerate this practice during this recession.  What CIC wants now people with loads of legally owned $$$$$$ to go there, and that money to be spent/stored there. either way they gets the TAX, now Ontario has GST/HST Tax from year 2009.

And the most ridiculous thing is that PR wont be able to take their parents as PR as currently the queue is 13-14 years, so parents are set to see their coffins before they could see their children and grands as PR in Canada.

arlnr,

have you got any letter that has got date of you Interview? I think the letter will be issued by CHC Dhaka as they'd most likely to arrange th interview as per their busy schedule.  Some of the seniors said that, that letter will contain the list of papers you'd need to take with you while your Interview.

The most common question they ask:  What made you an University/College Teacher, or for me an IT Manager. in India Immigration interviews are 40-60 minutes long. The most unwanted thing is that sometimes they just ask things and keep on disbelieving the answers. Its pre-meditated. Hope everyone gets through.

Dear Skilled Catagory Bangladeshi Applicants,

WELCOME TO ALL!

From now onwards let us start discussing only "in this TOPIC" so that it will be easy for all of us to track on issues relevant to all of us who have applied through the CHC/CIC in Singapore. However, it DOES NOT MEAN that Bangladeshis who have applied through the CHC/CIC other than Singapore can not participate here.

As a first step let us first log in all our names and the date of applications so that we will easily get an idea about how many of us are in the queue rather than searching trough page by page of the tracker. "Then it is your FORUM".....ask, discuss, inform, get informed, it will remain all open to all of you.

Cheers!

Sohel09

Thanks a lot Sohel Bhai

My status  changed to "In Process" today but not sure if it is true or false beause now a days as we see that status which are shown are confusing. Can anybody comment?

Congratulation for slight advancement of your application status. However, now-a-days it is observed that it is taking more time to get MR than before after changing the status to In Process.

Jnathan

Does the interview is taken in Bangladesh CHC for Bangladeshi applicants?
