Nice to know that you are preparing to come. In my opinion, the time you have choosen to come over here is not good. Specially in December / January most of the employers don't want to hire new employees. There are lots of factors behind that - it is the last month of the year, there are long weekends in these months (specially Christmas & New Year), they don't have the budget for this year (Canadian Budget Calculation January - December), etc. Moreover, the weather is pretty rough, you will find it difficult to adjust with it (unless you have prior experience).

I believe, as you have decided to move to Manitoba, you must have friends/family there. I would suggest you to consult with them regarding the job prospect. Not to make you afraid, the crime rate in Manitoba is the highest compare to all other province in Canada. Try to gather information as much as you can. It is always better to have some idea in what you are getting into; atleast you will have some mental strength.

Now I m in karachi. Still now PIA service good.But In Bangladesh Airport wants some tips for taking extra USD. ok I have ignored. PIA bagage 30 kg 2 bags per ticket no problem. Midim class hotel where from I m writing. AC & free bufet dinner nice. free internet. over all now good but dont  know about tomorrow. Write u next day from Toronto. Ya one thing is true Karachi is poor city co people request for tips but no force , if i like u can give or not.

How much did you pay as tips for how many CAD in Bangladesh Airport. Is there any relation, like percentage or how do you determine the amount to be sacrificed for your carrying of extra CAD/USD.

Please share this issue in details, like what he/she asked, how he/she looked at you, how exactly he approached, what you replied, then what happened, the negotiation process etc. I think it will help lot of people.

News Release – Up, up and away: Parent and Grandparent Super Visa takes flight today
Ottawa, December 1, 2011 — The first applications for the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa will be accepted today, Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney announced.

The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa is one element of Phase I of the Action Plan for Faster Family Reunification, announced in November. The Super Visa will allow applicants to remain in Canada for up to 24 months at a time without having to renew their status.

To be eligible, the applicant must:

•Be a parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident;
•Provide a written commitment of financial support from their child or grandchild in Canada, including proof that the child or grandchild meets the minimum necessary income (Low Income Cut-Off);
•Undergo the Immigration Medical Examination;
•Submit proof that they have purchased comprehensive Canadian medical insurance, valid for at least one year; and
•Satisfy the visa officer that they meet all other standard admissibility criteria.
Current processing times through the Family Class indicate that many parents and grandparents could wait for eight years or more to be accepted to Canada. With the Super Visa, they could be enjoying the company of their family in about eight weeks.
