Come next school year, I will have a kindergartener, 1st grader, 9th grader, and 11th grader (whew).

I know I need to call the schools and ask them myself but it's Sunday and I'm obsessing. You all know how it goes Smiley

Will I be able to enroll the kids in school before our PR is approved? I think at least one province states no child is inadmissible but I'm not finding anything on Alberta. Hoping to visit while PR is in process before school starts this summer and then just enroll them in school and not worry about rushing back to the states just for school.

Hi Awor!

The kids needs to apply for a study permit while they are waiting for the sponsorship.  If you have a study or work permit your dependent children do not need this study permit, I am assuming you have neither.

I provided a link below that tells you why they need a study permit and how to apply for one.

Thank you for your reply!

It appears for me to get a study permit though, I have to be accepted into a college. I have NO interest in wracking up any more student loan debt LOL

I'll just call the school/school district where the kids will be going and find out tomorrow.

Thanks again Smiley
