The lady at my bank (Wachovia) confirmed that the check was encashed. Then she asked me, would you like a print. On the back of the check is my File # Bxxxxxxxxx.

Even though I knew it was too early, I tried it out as 'Immigration File Number' on the 'Client Application Status' page, and the result was, as expected, not found.

Just curious, they do not accept regular checks, so are you saying that the cashier checks are presented to bank with the file number endorsement ?

Hi guys,

I'm new in this forum... So glad there's one like this so we could share/help each other's cases. Here's my timeline so far:
Application sent to CIC Buffalo - 3/31/09
Received by CIC - 4/2/09

I didn't include copies of my I-797s, only the H1b visa stamped on my passport. Do you think my application would be returned because of this? Let me know your experience so I could prepare it to be notarized as well. Thanks.

Yes it will be returned. Just send a money order of 125.55$ to us we will talk to CIC to not return your application.

It will return unless CIC find a document which proves that you are in the US for more than one year like an I-94 entry date stamp.
CIC is asking for I797A as the main backing document for that one year requirement even though it doesn't bear any entry date stamp.Lot of folks were unaware of this rule and got their application back in two weeks including myself. Hope for the best.

Just fax them the copies and include a covering letter giving details of your name, DOB etc and ask them to include it in your application.

To the folks who already got the nomination from AINP, we those who are waiting want you to share this information with us on the following thread.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/ainp-approved-noc-2171-sys-anlysts-it-consul-without-computer-related-degree-t17540.0.html

There was a case rejected due to the following reason.

"Your file has been reviewed, and it has been determined that your education and professional experience are equivalent to a Business Methods Analyst (NOC 1122) which is not included in the Regional occupation Under pressure list.  As a result, you cannot be considered eligible for the AINP Strategic Recruitment Stream at this time.
Please note that decisions with respect to the selection of Candidates are at the sole discretion of the Provience of Alberta and are final; There is no appeal process."

As per HRSDC website 2171 (systems Analysts & It consultants) usually have degree in Computer, engineering or related field.
Consult here: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/english/NOC/2006/QuickSearch.aspx?val65=2171

Has anyone received the nomination under the NOC 2171 without a Computer Engg or a Computer related degree ?

Hi Guys,
just a quick update, I got the AOR/File No. etc. today 04/13/09. I'm out of town so my wife called me that it arrived. I don't remember the exact time-line 'cause I'm not home, but this is a rough estimate of what I remember:
 - sent CIC application 12/30 (it was returned because I did not fill out a form completely)
 - re-sent it to CIC on 01/09/09, received at CIC on 01/10/09
 - Check cashed about 2 weeks after receipt.
 - got AOR on 04/13/09

A few days over 3 months.

Good luck to every one still waiting.

BTW does any one know how long the medical test takes in the doctor's office? I plan to travel back to Atlanta for it but I'm wondering if I need to take the whole day off work or just a couple of hours in the morning? Any info. on the medical will be appreciated. Thanks.

I'll let you know as soon as I get the information from the Dr.'s office. I checked and found that there's only 1 designated facility in the Atlanta metro, they have 3 in Georgia, but the other 2 are in Savannah. I wonder why they have so few places, for example, there's none in the whole of Wisconsin where I currently work.

PS. I just called the Doctor's office, they are closed already, but they have some information on fees on their webpage:
http://www.doctorwolff.com/
http://www.doctorwolff.com/Canadian_Immigration.html

It is $395 per adult, variable for children 10 years and younger

Congrats. Just wondering why it took more than three months. Did you have an FSW application as well?

You normally get those delays if for any reason your application is send back. That's why they always advice you to make sure everything is correct b4 you send your application to CIC.
