AINP SRS Applied - Canada Visitor Visa Needed

I have recently dispatched my application for AINP SRS. I need to apply for Canada Visitor Visa to go there for few days on vacation.

Will applying for Visitor visa affect my AINP SRS application ? If not, how can i apply?

I remember reading some where that if you have applied Immigration under FSW, you cannot apply for Visitor Visa. I am not sure about the authenticity of this.
