Thanks everyone for helping me. Thanks to those too who helped me by not responding to my PMs (they inadvertently helped me coz I could seek out and gather information and learnt along the way)

I mailed in my application last night. I chose Fedex coz UPS had taken the delivery for the day. It costed whopping $25 (I checked for UPS rate too, it was $23). The tracking says that the application will be delivered by 12 noon today.

What should I do now ? I mean is there anything that I can do now to save time later? Or what are the next steps ??

I have been working on this for more than two weeks and now it seems I have nothing to do Smiley

Thanks again,
Mohan

Wait and watch... check your emails regularly after 4 months... do your regular work and try to maintain your H1 status!

Hi Mohan,

If you sent complete application correctly, there are no next steps - theoretically. Only steps are, check emails(inc. spam) for 4 months for file #. Then, maybe, you never get a file #. then start bugging them to get file number. Then wait for another 4 months to get a decision. One main step is maintain your H1b, because when they will make a decision 7 months from now, they will ask for latest pay stub.

Hi Canada77 - I have a question. Did you staple the documents? This is a big question as I am confused after going through lot of posts.

How did you actually send the documents?

I did not staple the documents (I remember reading some threads in the forum and people discouraged stapling the documents). Instead, I used paper clips (NOT the binder clips as they tear the paper off). After I clipped the documents with paper clips, I used an Elastic Band so that they are tied together and can be assembled / re-assembled by them easily.

I dropped the documents at FedEx at 6pm and the packet was delivered at 11:50am next morning. I paid some $25 bucks for the FedEx.

Let me know if you have more questions.

RedStar, I am in the H1B visa process (including filing for the green card) and am an IT Professional too.
