This is what I found in the NY consulate.....

"...1) Pick-up option - Permanent resident visa(s) are issued on Thursdays only (except US/Canadian holidays).

Applicants who choose this option should bring their original passport(s) on Thursday only between 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and passport(s) may picked-up the following Thursday between 1:30 - 3:00 p.m...."

How long does it take to do the background information check from other government offices(s)?

This is good news for people whose files are with the Newyork consulate. Cause they can pick up their visa and save alot of time mailing their passports and waiting for them.

Hi Arsenal

Did you tried contacting CIC about your status . The letter which i received states that i can  contact the new york office(My Application is with NY Office)  in case i don't hear from them in 90 days. Well it's been only month for me .

How about you , you case seems to have done 90 days . ...

Yes I contacted them. They said they are doing background check. They said that ECAS is not always up to date and they rarely update the status. My PPR request might come in the mail any day or can be still delayed.

I doubt they would give me an accurate update by e-mail .. why would they?

BTW. Has anyone received his/her PR status through Albertan AINP (H1B SRS) program?
