hello sir,
i want to apply for canadian immigration under AINP for h1b category.
i came to US on sept 2005.
finished my MS on dec 2007.
worked on OPT status from jan 2008-sept30 2008.
on OCT 1 2008 my H1B status started.
currently i am working on H1b.
my total work experience in US including OPT and H1B is about 14 months.
however on H1B alone it is 6 months.
can you please tell me if i am eligible to apply under AINP for US Visa holders ?
or is it that one has to have on year experience on H1B only.
if i apply my case now and by the time my case goes through i would be having total work exp on h1b more than a year. Would that work?
would really appreciate your help.
Thanks

almost same situ... applied...its under processing right now. They requested some document last week also..

my time line: jan 27 th application reached alberts

march8 th - got a email requesting job descr. document to process

But my experience is from Oct 1st 2007 - on OPT.. i am a manufacturing engineer..
I had a job offer from the frst day... and it was my first job..

later in may moved to another manufacturing engineering job with other company... both of my jobs were with OEM's or direct companies.. no consultancy..

Why.. I am saying is... if you have proof..solid proof of work ex..during your opt,..including offer letters.. pay stubs..etc..you might still be considered. But, it may also depend on your NOC... if you are into software and stuff... there are good chances they might ask you to wait..

Anyways..long story short..you have good chances..but you might also want to chek with other seniors in this forum. If you call alberta...I am sure..they wud ask u to wait..

hope this helps!

They sent this mail to all those who attended the webinar on Jan. From the mail: "You are receiving this email because you have viewed the H1B presentation which was recorded on January 14, 2009 hosted by the Alberta Government. Should you wish to be removed from receiving further information regarding living and working in Alberta , please use the permanent unsubscribe link below. "
