 @ felix and  @ engg

I am in same boat - pre-assessment emails, got invitation letter in brown envelope, green sticker, just 003, no 009 etc..    They received my docs by FedEx on Jan 22. Waiting for what happens next.

This is my time line
11/26/08 - E-mailed docs for pre-assessment
11/26/08 - Received confirmation e-mail
12/16/08 - Received invitation to apply
12/24/08 - Mailed app. package to AINP
12/31/08 - AINP received app. package (UPS confirmation)
02/20/09 - Received file number (587)

Do not despair. Someone recieved his nomination without getting a file # and he also sent the app in December. I believe your cert should be in the mail.
Well I guess I am not that lucky... but still its a good news that I received my file number 2 hours ago. So for tracking purposes the information you all need to know is:

PNP Alberta Office received my application............. December 31st 2008 (USPS Tracking)
File # received.................................................. February 20th 2009
File # ending with.............................................. xxxx-xx-0593

That is 50 days later....!

Will keep you posted with any updates...

LOOKS LIKE THEY HAVE STARTED TO MOVE NOW...

TODAY THEY HAVE SENT FILE NOS. OF 31ST DEC APPS...SO WE CAN CONCLUDE THAT THEY MUST BEGIN WORK ON JAN APPS NEXT WEEK ONWARDS SINCE THEY CANNOT PROCESS APPS RANDOMLY.

HOPEFULLY IN COMING WEEKS WE WILL GET FILE NOS OR NOMINATIONS FOR JAN APPLICATIONS.

I admit that this wait is not an easy one. I am counting days and now weeks. As each week goes by I hope for file #...

If they started sending file #s for end of Dec, beginning od Jan applicants, it may be safe to assume Feb applicants will start receiving their file #s end of March, beginning of April (perhaps?).

I am trying to time when to begin the PCC process and FBI so that they dont expire.

In the meantime I am freaked with the possibility of reduction of PR visa numbers for 2009. I was so hoping I would be landing before Jan 2010.

What do you guys think will happen? Are we too late in our applying for Alberta?

I think there is some delay in processing now. No new Approvals or file numbers.

let's say that it has been at least 3 weeks of waiting for most of us under the old process.

I am hoping I will know my file # by the end of March, if not before since
(my application reached Edmonton on Feb 9)!!

My Time line of sending the application under old process:

 17-Dec-2008  - E-mailed docs for pre-assessment
 18-Dec-2008  - Received confirmation e-mail
 24-Jan -2009  - Received invitation to apply
13-Feb-2009   - Mailed app. package to AINP
18-Feb-2009   - AINP received app. package

Waiting for file Number

I saw somewhere in the forum that NOC has to be obtained for certain engineers.  What is the procedure? Can anybody specify it?

Last week went very quiet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Technically we were expecting some news for Jan applications under OLD process from AINP.

Please let us know if there is anyone out there who's application was received by AINP office in the month of Jan 2009 under OLD process and has received any kind of response(Either an email or certificate) from AINP office.

Thanks,

They are following Batch process. If you remember around 20 Feb they send lot of emails with file number. Same with nomination, somewhere in March people start getting Alberta Packets.
