There is no need to do all this I believe. They are keeping records I think of when they are getting the application. I was asking her like when I change address to my country in future should I send a copy of fedex reciept etc , she said they won't need that as they know which onces are under that rule. So my guess is they have the information recorded

congratulation mate.
Did they mentioned in the email how long it gonna take the get the nominee?
Thank you

I got the email yesterday .... File # 1116  ( NOC 2132  mechanical Engineer / Project Engineer)
Same here, they mentioned: File received - March 4th
I mailed it on January 14th
Good luck to all who sent files in Jan.   email should be on its way

This is what email read:
"Thank you for applying to the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).  This is to confirm receipt of your AINP application on March XX, 2009.  A decision on your application may be made in approximately 8 months.  Please note, however, that processing times vary depending on the volume of applications received"

Hmmm... just curious, but can you let us know your NOC code? I am not sure if the NOC codes can be a deciding factor for the nomination timelines.

Hello everyone...

Just to share with you my timeline so far. I applied under new process, sent application on January 15th, UPS confirmed reception on January 16th, 2009 and Alberta state on the email that they received it on February 27, 2009. After 3 months of being patient today they sent my file number ending with 1022 and stating that it will take 8 months to make a decision.

Same dates, but have not heard from them yet!!!! :(

I highly suspect that the NOC can be a determining factor in the individual timelines

Seems like they are following some strange pattern....or may be files are being sorted by the NOC

But whatever atleast the things have started to move...

My timeline.. Application mailed January 14th ....Did not track....should have been delivered by USPS within 1 week...

So I hope I am in the ppl. getting notified this week......

That is what I was trying to track in the certificate time line thread.

So far 8 people posted their file numbers in this forum in last couple of days. There appears to be a weird pattern in the order of processing. I know it is too early to try to come to any conclusion while tons of applications are pending. But let us see if there is a connection between NOC and the file numbers. My guess is IT based NOCs are sidelined for now. So can you guys please post your NOC codes also.

Thanks...

I am in the same IT boat as you are with NOC 2173.... although I've applied later than you (App received by Albertans on Feb 27 09 under the new process).

Folks:

We just found out our File Number.  We are using an immigration attorney, so the file number email was sent to them directly and not to us.  Our attorney sent us this information this morning, but I am not sure when they got the email from AINP.  The email from AINP had the same tone and content as seen in the last week or so ("A decision on the application may be made in approximately 8 months.  Please note, however, that processing times vary depending on the volume of applications received.")

We applied under the new process (no pre-assessment), NOC code: 2131

Patience folks, more good news is surely on the way.

Guys,
I have been thinking about what AINP told you " approximately up to 8 months at your emails"
if they generated the file number in March 09, they might issue the nomination certificate in July-August 09
..
look up the base  processing timeline of
pre-assessment up to 4 months
Assessment  up to 4 months
total : 8 months.
Applicants who have sent the applications in January 09 were supposed to get in March 09; but AINP spread out that file # in April 09. (they have already generated the file # in march but they didn't teel us) So, for the assessment stage, they might start counting on the day they generated the file # and nomination certificate might be delivered approximately in July-august 09.
That's my logical thinking.

Thanks,
Yo

Just now there has been an announcement.

The H1B Info session in Houston, TX on May 7 has been cancelled!

They didnt give any reason behind it. (May be AlbertaGovernor might know:))

My guess,
Alberta has already received too many applications. They dont want to advertise this program no more?
