When we say "Decision" ..What exactly is the stage.
Is nomination a Decision?
or
When CIC send you the final invitation asking you to complete the PR formalities?

I am confused, I think, when you got the Nomination ...is the decision...and then they will ask you to send the other documents to CIC....here they complete other formalities like Medical and PCC. As far as H1B visa concerned ...they check this at the first stage. Just my thought. Not yet confirmed from Canada Immigration. But, in the current market scenario, it is very important to know.

But it was always like this.....last year I thought was was gonna get lay off and I called Alberta if I could leave the country without nomination and they said I must apply to Buffalo for CIC, after the nomination, sooooo I had to be in US...

Akk

Thanks black haired guy!!!
OMG!!! seems to be that the news are not good for new Applicants :(

I guess I spoke to soon LOL. It is official.

http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/campaigns/h1b.html

"You must be currently working in the United States and possess a valid visa in one of the following temporary skilled worker visa categories: H1-B, H1-B1, H-1C, E-3 at the time the AINP makes a final decision on the application"

The keyword is ".. the AINP makes a final decision on the application".. I would interpret it as valid H1B visa at the time of AINP makes decision on nomination. Nowhere does it read ..at final decision made by CIC.

Please correct me if my comprehension skills look retarded.

Yes, I think, you are right. Since, who knows what will happen tomm. They can not keep this so dicy. The main thing is the person should have worked on H1B in US for at least 1 year. Thats how most of them are planning that in case of layoff we have a backup ...so if that is too so dicy nobody would like to go for it.

Write PNP. I believe you also need to check Economic class.

Will this cause any issue if we check "Others" and mention as "AINP" in it? Because I did this in my application. I'm worried now.

Doesn't seem a biggie.. you were specific in writing AINP. When did you send it to CIC? if it is more than 2 weeks, I wouldn't bother.

Could you please tell me ..why should I check Economic class also??

I think "AINP" will also work ...no need to worry. All above that AINP009 is the specific form for this new process. Am I right?

I too don't know but somewhere I have seen saying the applicants to check on "Economic Class" while applying for AINP.

In this case "decision" means nomination..... the applicant must hold a H1B at the time of nomination....
For CIC it does not matter, and actually many of us will leave US (and H1B status) in the middle of CIC process..I know I will....

Dear All,
I am at the first stage of this new process means still filling all the documents. I have already filled AINP 009 form and now,
I am filling my CIC forms, which are required to be sent with AINP 009 Application in the form of photocopies.

I would appreciate, if someone can clarify my following doubts/queries.

1. Do we need to send the Spouse Education Certificates also
2. IMM 5406 Form - It says that applicant need to fill the names in both the languages but if you will see the space is very less so please advice how to manage the space .....as per the instructions, I can add additional sheet.....so shall I fill 2 sheets. 1 in English and other in Native language but the contents in both the sheets will be same. Please suggest!!
3. In the IMM 008 - background information -: There is one point, where I need to tell about all the places, wherever I stayed after my 18th b'day. There are around 7 places(5 places India, 2 Abroad), where I stayed more than 6 months. So should tell about all the places? I am worried that may be at the time of CIC they will ask me to submit police report   for all 7 places. What i want to ask here is that whether we need to submit the police report for each country or each place whether that is in the same country or not.

Thanks,
Wasi2000

Hi Guys, most people on this forum are applying for ANIP to Alberta on a H1B, i am here from England working in Canada on a work permit, i am applying under the employer driven stream, where my company sponsors me, which is quickest, H1B application or my root of already being in canada with my company sponsoring me ?????????????

I applied dec 12th 2008, they requested school doc's late Jan, which they received back feb3rd, my company then got a email saying cadiates application is in process, this was sent feb12th.

I am not sure if they have already checked my employer and are now checking me ?

Thanks
