AINP application affects US green card chances?
«

I am working to become a US green card holder through my employer. I am currently on an H1-B and intend to send my application for AINP. I was wondering if my US green card process would be hurt if I were to apply for AINP and eventually get nominated by the AINP program. Please advice. Thank you.

I dont think so it should show any impact on your GC.Both are two different entities in two different countries.

Canadian PR and US Green Card are two different processes. AINP would not hurt your Green Card application, however why apply if you don't plan on living in Canada.

US and Canada are two different countries, two different processes. Only problem is to maintain PR in both countries. Btw, if you are applying for GC, why bother to apply AINP. You are only backlogging the system for people who really wants to move to Canada.

Hello GK,
It's not a fast track process for GC in US.Who knows when he will get GC.So it's better for him to go for AINP option which definitely will be fatser than US GC.
thanks

There is nothing wrong with having many balls rolling at the same time. While you GC process is on still apply for AINP.Based on the current USCIS processing your GC app can take up to 7 years to be completed but with AINP in about 2 or less years you can have canadian PR However if immigration reform passes later this year or early next year the US GC process will be faster. So you never know and it nver hurts to try.
Good Luck
