Dear All,

I have a friend who has applied for AINP or I think PNP last November of 2008.  He is currently working as a Room Service Supervisor (Food and Beverage Department) in a hotel.  He received an email that it will take 150 days for the processing.  Our questions are:

1. Once the PNP is approved, what will be the status of their Visa? Will it be changed automatically to Permanent Resident Visa?
2. Does he still needs to apply for the Permanent Resident Visa and or Immigrant Visa?
2. What will happen with his work permit? will it be converted to Open work permit?

Thanks,

Neo

1. He will have a PNP certificate but his visa will be the same
2. Yes, he will use the PNP certificate to apply for PR
3. His work permit will stay the way it is, if it's about to expire, he could apply to have it extended.  Live in caregivers and spouses are pretty much the only ones who get open work permits.
