Affordable Furnished Apartments - Toronto Area

Hello all,
I am looking for affordable furnished apartments or suites in the Toronto area.  I will be staying 2 months for sure, maybe 3.  I've search extensively on the net and found quite a few options ranging from $1500 to $3000 a month for a 1 bedroom suite. 
Please share your experiences, recommendations, and advices.

Because I have a family and prefer to get a separate apartment (not shared with others).

Check advertisements on craigslist.com. You can also post your ad under "housing wanted" to indicate the location and the limit you can pay. It worked for many people. good luck!
