Hi:  I am new to this forrum.  I had a request from embassy on Feb 2011 for updated forms, re-PCC and Medicals, which I sent on April 4.  I am waiting for the PPR right now.  My passport is going to expire in April 4, 2012.  I have heard that passport should be valid for at least 12 months for the Visa to be stamped on it, Is that true.  Should I go for the renewal of my passpost before I get the PPR as they are really taking a hell of time to renew it here in Pak. My time line is

Applied in december 2009
AOR Feb 20, 2010
Additional documents, PCC etc July 2010
Sent Aug 2010
Updated IMM8 forms etc, re-PCC and Med Req, Feb 2011
Sent April 4, 2011
PPR... Waiting

Try contacting the Canadian High Commission in Islamabad and asking them if they require your passport to be valid for at least 12 more months. I realize it is hard to get through to anyone there, but an email request would probably be answered.
