I need some advice.  I had my medicals completed back in May before I submitted my application for PR through my wife's sponsorship.  I received by AOR letter on July 8.  It did not not mention the medicals other than they needed to be completed with 30 days if they had not already been done.  With my application I submitted the form the doctor gave back to me as evidence that the medicals had been performed.  I have not heard anything from Buffalo since they started processing my application on July 8.  From what I can see on trackitt.com, everyone who has an AOR date prior to mine has received their PPR or had additional documents requested.  Several people after my AOR date have received document requests and one has received his PPR.

Any advice?  I sent an email to Buffalo asking if my medicals had been received, but I just received the standard response that they can't address those questions.

I don't think you have a reason to worry - I say this because Buffalo processed my file, too, and they weren't able to find the medical results for one of my dependents, even though I had included proof with my application that his medical had been done.  Within a week of receiving my AOR, I received another letter asking that I have him medically examined.  Like you, I wasn't able to get a response from them - so I faxed the Regional Medical Centre in Ottawa with my son's information and asked whether they had his results on file.  Within a day they confirmed that they did have his results and that they were forwarding them to Buffalo immediately.  So you could probably do the same - send a fax to the RMC asking them to confirm that Buffalo has requested your results . . . they're really good about responding.

Thank you so much for that information.  I just faxed Ottawa.  I'm still hopeful that they're just taking their time and I'll receive my PPR in the next week or so.  Everyone else around my AOR date has received some sort of notification.

I'll let you know if and how they respond.

Every case is different - please don't frustrate yourself expecting that your file will be finalized as quickly as some who've submitted theirs around the same time.  It just doesn't work like that.  Buffalo is currently finalizing applications in 3-9 months - yours could fall anywhere in that timeline.

I discovered yesterday that my frustration was justified.  I had the doctor performed my medical exam look into why my medicals hadn't been received.  Turns out Ottawa sent my medicals under the name "Jsaon" while my name is "Jason."  So I've been waiting around for the last month because a clerk typed my name wrong.  At least I know Buffalo now has my medicals.  Hopefully I won't have to wait much longer.

Good luck - aren't you glad you followed up?  Good job!

Yeah, I just wish I'd followed up sooner or at least been more forceful about it.  I checked with the doctor a month ago, and they correctly assured me that my medicals had been sent.  Of course they had no idea that a clerk would misspell my name.

The key item I think everyone should take away from this is that if you have not seen that your medicals have been received within 30 days, have the doctor who performed the medicals follow up with Ottawa.  I faxed the Ottawa Regional Medical Centre myself, but I never heard back.
