Hi:

I am getting married to a PR of Canada, and am about to apply to relocate. I was deported from the US in 2001  for false claim to US citizenship. Will I  have any trouble immigrating.

Please assist

:) My friend, I think you better go see an immigration lawyer because more than likely your marriage will be seen as a way to come to Canada and be refused.  It would be wise to consult an immigration lawyer who will give you the right answer and what to do.

 Come to think of it..where are you and what country are u a citizen of?

:?: Explain why you had false id to get into the US? Maybe not either, if you were not charged and jailed and it was in the US. It has nothing to do with Canada. But to be on the safe side, I would go check it out before you pay money to immigrate and end up being refused.  But like I said..it is more than likely that Canada knows nothing about it.  But then maybe they do..a lawyer could discretely check in to see if you are in their computor as a undesireable person.

I'm First Nation North American Indian & immigration has always been an interest to me. I believe we do need immigrants to keep Canada strong.

You can NOT hide the fact of deportation from USA, because it will be in your FBI report which you MUST submit with your docs, if you live in USA for more than 6 months. Canadian Security Service will check it. As far as I know- deportation is NO problem. Yes you can apply for PR.
