ADDING an Adopted Child
«

Hi all,
Please is it possible to add a relative to an application that has been previously submitted? i mean besides your biological kids can one add a relative say cousin as one's dependent?
Secondly, if one adopts one's Cousin after application has been submitted can one go ahead and fill a form to include the adopted child in one's application? what are the risk? has anyone been involved in adoption while application is still in process? please share your advise and experiences cause i just adopted a cousin who had lived with me for quite sometime and was wondering if its safe to include her at this stage of the process.
Please note that Ecas is reading Received by Visa Office since December 2010
Cheers

I wish I could remember where I read it, but there was something cautioning against adoption for the purposes of immigration. Do some google searches on the forum and the internet and see what you come up with. I hope you are able to find the answers you need. Good Luck.

Hi Pippen
I think he cant include an adopted child at this time as he is not a permanent resident or citizen of Canada
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/adoption/index.asp
He better call to immigration authorities nearby
