Go to the drivers license place where you live and ask them what you need.  In some provinces, you need a valid work permit to extend your drivers license and if you live in one of those provinces, you might have to wait until you get your new work permit.

Hi Otman,

If you still have your current valid Work Permit, you can drop by your nearest DL issuing office and extend your Drivers licence  They will issue you an interim Licence valid only for one to two months. You will never get your card ID type Licence until you submit a new work permit with at least 6 months validity. Smiley

Saskatchewan will only issue a DL with a valid immigration document.

I had to renew in July but could only get a renewal up until the month my TWP expired. I had to stop driving after that until my new TWP arrived. I tried to get something from the CIC to help but never received a response to the request.
