if you get PR while on implied visitor status, make sure to write CIC to withdraw your visitor application. apparently,  they refund your $75!

You have to wait till you get your PR, as in landed? Not just PPR?

Yeah I heard you can do this! I am on implied for about 2-3 weeks now and was hoping to do this. Who did you write to? Someone had mentioned the border officer did this while landing.

Another tip:
If you have a VR, make sure you take it with you when you land.

It is not mandatory, but IO's often request it so they can destroy it.

Rule number one - when landing, do not aggravate the IO Smiley

I don't know. they asked for my date of landing, so if you know that in advance, perhaps it's worth letting them know.
