A Run-down of Vancouver Neighborhoods?

Hello all,

I'm trying to find out more about what kinds of places there are in Vancouver. Could someone tell me how to learn about the different areas, their average income, their restaurants, companies and facilities, and their general vibe? Trying to decide where to live in the city. =)

I heard that downtown eastside of Vancouver has some run down neighborhoods.  For more details, you can search neighbourhoods of Vancouver in wikipedia.
