I am so relieved I had a response from Jason Kenny's office regarding CIC delays and concerns of CSIS assessment going missing...anyway , here is their response  Smiley

 Dear Mrs XXXXXX

I am replying to your e-mail of January 20, 2011, addressed to the Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, concerning your permanent residence application and security checks.  I apologize for the delay in responding.

I understand your frustration at what appear to be unwarranted delays in finalizing your case.  The many steps involved in processing an application, coupled with the volume of applications, sometimes make it difficult to conclude cases in as timely a manner as we would like.

Probably no other immigration issue causes more dismay or gives greater concern than processing delays.  We understand that as processing times lengthen, anxiety levels increase.  Representations inevitably result and a genuine effort is made to provide a timely response.  While there is no embargo on communicating with Canadian visa offices about the status of individual immigration cases, it is in everyone's interest to minimize these contacts since the time taken to respond to representations may be spent at the expense of ongoing case work.

Each of the steps in processing an application for permanent residence takes some time.  Please be aware that if an interview or background enquiries are required, the application will fall outside of the normal processing timeframe.  It is not possible to provide an estimate at this stage.  Your application and security checks are being reviewed, and you will be contacted as soon as processing has been finalized.

Thank you for writing and expressing your concerns.  I trust that this information is of assistance.

S. Charbonneau

Ministerial Enquiries Division

I would like to tell them" Tell me something I don't know and what are you doing to make it better".
That's the best we can get from politicians, I guess.

May I ask why it is taking so long?

Even Inland, 2 years is way over the average time line.

The answer you got from the Jason Kenny was just a standard reply and didn't really give you any information at all. I suspect, many people get the same reply.

We had applied in May of 2009 and a decision was made September 23, 2010. Albeit not the decision we wanted but one was made nonetheless, it's surprising your application is taking so much time, I hope you get finalized soon!

Eyeoftheocean I hope that is not the case for you in terms of decisions especially when applying inland. I cant stand run of the mill responses in any way at all. If this is any comfort we were waiting for a border waiver on the US side for my fiance and after it had been in process for so long we contacted them and received no response. The final email I sent to them expressing my irritation at no response and within a week the waiver was in our hands.
I highly doubt my email had any merit in the decision but still it is ridiculous that you got the standard leave us alone response!

Wonders never cease to amaze me with CIC anymore, I have lost all faith in them now and will just wait for the day I get PR ..I think Im seriously cracking up here , I cant take any more negative decisions  Sad
