a question about police clearance valid time

Hi, guys

I have a police clearance issued in China on April 28th, 2009, proving that I have no criminal record before I came to Canada, and I plan to submit my immigration application next month. So the police clearance will be about 6 months old at the time of submitting. Will that be fine?

Does the 3 months rule only apply to people who live outside Canada?
