qorax..... i have gone through the thread in detail and have got to know so many new things which even the consultants dont know... i havent applied yet... as before applying i want to get to know all possible details... i would really be thankful to u if u cud plss give ur input for the following queries...
1. if i apply as quebec skilled worker, than after getting the visa, is it necessary to land in quebec? or i can land anywhr i want to? and if landing in quebec is required, than for how long do i need to stay there ? moreover, if the scenario says that i can land elsewhr, thn do i need to complete my immigration formalities and tax related matters in quebec? or from the place wher m residing?
2. suppose, I have an AEO for BC - Vancouver, than its pre-requisite to land in vanc or i can land at toronto.. as majority of my friends are living there... (i read in ur posts that the person can land at other place) so pls confirm ... if i can stay at toronto thn can i start my new job search there? or do i need to report to my employer any how?
the background for such questions is that my profession is approved under quebec list and my hubby's under 1122.. .... so we hv both options open....secondly, we are also in search of a job and r hopeful that we might get it in bc..vanc.. but personally we dnt want to stay thr cz we dnt know a single person thr.. i hope u r getting what i m intending to say... qorax i wud really appreciate ur detailed response here..
1. If u go with QSW - u can 'land' anywhere... but the BSO'd like to have a Quebec address for the PRCs. Your tax issues will come-up only the next yr... by then u could move anywhere. 2. Again, NO. But the BSO might enquire your intensions to settle in BC with that 'job' - if u land elsewhere. Similar to the foregoing, u may have to provide a BC address for the PRCs. Later settlement could be anywhere. Qorax

Brother Qorax,
Although I hardly visit this forum but I know your expertise in giving out great help to people.
I applied for FSW under NOC 1122 from Dubai in September 2010 with complete documents to the CIO. After the submission, I never got any confirmation of receipt via e-mail or post.
It has been 10 months since I applied and therefore I would like to find out the status / client ID number so that I can determine further course of action as I have not received much of assistance from my consultant.
I have recently emailed FSW-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca for a query for which I got an autoreply stating it would firstly, take 20 days to get a reply and secondly they will consider it to be replied to me since I have appointed my limbo consultancy as my rep. On the other hand my friend applied with me and he got his file number - we both are Pakistanis.
Then I tried calling this number 0018882422100 to speak to a human and determine my status or the client ID number, but without success - it does not go through. The machine says it has got to do with a 3 digit number or so.
I would be grateful if you would give me assistance regarding my situation as I have given my original documents there!
Looking forward to your quick feedback.

This is pathetic... I surely understand the turmoil u must be going thru. However, I'd opine that it's usually unlikely that CIO doesn't respond to an apps for that long. I think either (a)Your file has been lost [generally doesn't happen - thus, very doubtful]; (b)U have got an AOR, which probably is lying with your consultant somewhere. What could happen is that those buggers have lost it... but then, they r supposed to enquire, on behalf of u, with the CIO. I'd suggest - u pressurize them to send in a query asap. And it's surprising that they haven't done so till date. Good luck! Qorax

Hi qorax First thanks for you quick reply.. One thing more I want to ask you. I been to Aus for my higher study 5 year ago. In Aus I applied visitor Visa for Canada but they refused me. I mentioned this in my applications. In addition Doc's (when I sent the passport) they asked me for a refusal letter, I was unable to provide that letter but I sent them a payment slip of visitor visa. My question is: - will they check my status from Aus (Canadian high commission) why I refused? 2. Will they also contact Aus embassy about my student visa as well (I already sent Aus police report with my application) I seen many cases which approved in 3 months n got their visa. Why it's taking long time in my case? PLZ LET ME KNOW....MANY THANKS

I've never heard ppl getting the PRVs in 3 months. During the 'golden period' of CHC-ND-2009, the earliest one got it was 7 months. But that's passe. Now, think on the lines of 18 months++. Qorax

As of date, we should have one qualifying NOC... ie. experience in one of the 29 NOCs, in the last 10 yrs to be "eligible" for the FSW. Rest whatever NOCs we worked in - gets us the points, for 'total' experience. Qorax

Hi Qorax,
I'm pre June 2010 applicant(spouse) and current ECAS status is ‘application received'. With so long delay in processing of FSW PR applications, I'm thinking to re apply as principal applicant with your ‘go ahead'. Even on first instance, I wanted to do this but with some doubts in mind, I could not...
I would be grateful if you kindly assist in clearing up my doubts and advise if I'm eligible to reapply or not.
I'm commerce graduate (B.Com) and worked as an Accountant/Bookkeeper for 9 years at my native place ‘ falls under Skill level B NOC 1231'.
In March 2005, I got an opportunity to work for Kuwait based Catering company (subsidiary of Agility Logistics) that run DFAC contracts (Dining Facilities) for US coalition forces in Middle east, Asia and Africa. In total, I worked for 5 years with this catering company.
Details of various positions I held during that period.
Accountant 6 months Administrator (US Dfac) 1 year and 8 months Site Manager (US Dfac) 6 months (Job responsibilities similar to NOC 0631 Restaurant and Food service Managers) Project Manager (US Dfac) 13 months (Job responsibilities similar to NOC 0631 Restaurant and Food service Managers) Project Manager( UNAMID Cafeteria) 9 months (Job responsibilities similar to NOC 0631 Restaurant and Food service Managers) Asst Operations Manager 3 months
After returning home, I was idle for an year. Recently, I joined as a ‘Banquet Manager' at a local resort.
I'm fully aware of the fact that you must have relevant education to your profession. Would there be any exception to my case? Can I claim my experience (SITE and PROJECT Manager) to fall under NOC 0631 Restaurant and Food Service Managers?
Secondly, Can I claim book keeper Skill Level B experience points to maximize scores i.e. 21 points for 4 years or more experience?
Expecting your earliest reply.
Many thanks,
PS
As long as 75% [approx] of your duties match the HRSDC description of the NOC -- quals doesn't matter. U'd sure require to document that, properly. Qorax
