Dear Qorax,

You have been of great help to many of my fellow immigrant applicants. Hoping you can help me out with my questions and situation regarding my PR application. My passport was going to expire in September 2012 and so I have applied and got a new passport (has a different number than the old passport) this week. But before I applied for new passport, during medicals, I have shown my old passport as per identification purpose (the MPR was not accepting driver's licence for id purpose). Over weekend I got an update on my E-cas saying that my medicals are received. Do I need to update Visa office (Buffalo transferred to Detroit) with my NEW passport number? If I do, will such update after medicals, delay the issue of PPR? How important is it to update my new passport number? Also, my temporary Canadian visa is going to expire at the end of this month (I am living in Hamilton Ontario, CANADA). I know I need a valid permit and passport but do I need to have a valid Visa when I submit my passport for stamping?? Really hoping answers for these questions that are bothering me, my friend. Thank you.

Hi,

I was avoiding ur queries 'coz they were difficult to read. Here's my views:

1. U don't require to update anything now. As u get ur PPR -- submit both pps under a cover letter.
2. Won't u be applying for ur TRV extension? In any case it doesn't matter for ur PRV stamping.

Dear qorax ,

Please reply please please reply

I made inqury to chc and they reply me this Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi .

We acknowledge that our office has received your original passport(s) and right of lending fee for this application.

Due to the high volume of correspondence received by this office, it generally takes several days following receipt to process passports and place them on file.  The file is then directed to the attention of a processing team for a review to take place to ensure all requirements have been met for the application to move to the next steps in processing.

This file is currently pending review by the responsible processing team and a decision by the officer.  As soon as that review has taken place, our office will contact the applicants if any further documentation or information is required.

Please note that all statutory requirements must be met before we can issue visas.  We therefore cannot provide you with a precise date by which this application will be finalized and the passports returned.  Your continued patience is appreciated.  Rest assured that we give the highest processing priority to cases which are ready for visa issuance for which passports have been submitted.  Until we contact the applicant or authorized representative, either to request additional documents or information or to return the passports, we will not be able to respond to further enquiries.
So please. Reply me how long I have to wait for my pp with visa
My time line is I did my medical on 28 feb 2012 and send pp on 15 march with Pcc so please advise me

Two things happening here:
1. Early 2012 - processing priorities changed - thereon 2011 cases got into 1-yr's mandatory 'wait queue';
2. Case to case - processing time / obligations / works differ [sorry, u've heard it all the time I know].

Pls keep the spirits high and u'd soon be looking at it!

Dear Qorax sir,

I am a May2010 applicant.
My status is in-process since March 2012.
I am the primary applicant.

1. my spouse's job/workplace changed and
2. the address of my previous work place has changed (I applied FSW using this office's job description/experience)

Do I need to inform CIC about this?
If yes, then how (e-mail/post)?

Dear Qorax,
I got my ppr1 on 10 th july 2012.
What would you suggest should I buy tickets now or wait until I get passport with visa stamped.
But you know it be costly to buy ticket with short time gap.
