Hi Qorax,

Should I just email the Visa Office and ask them for steps on How to Add my wife on my file and ditto for my wife ?

Is this likely to cause any delays in our files ?

Dear Qorax

I need your suggestions on few things.

1. Right now I am in US and my Husband is in India. I am Principle applicant and currently on H1B. He wants to apply for Canada visitor visa from India to visit his Uncle. Do you think there will be any problem for getting Visitor Visa or on my PR file?

2. We submitted application in Oct 28, 2010 and AOR received in Feb 16,2011. Still how long will it take to get my PR decision?

3. Now it's almost 18 months since we applied ,Can we inquire to CIC through e-mail or is it advisable to order GCMS?

4. After 2 months my employer has to start process for my H1B extension, I have H1B valid till Sept 2012. Should I wait for applying H1B extension till I get decision for Canada PR?

5. If I moved to India in 2-3 months, will that decision affect to my Canada PR process or decision? In that case, Will my file transfer to New Dehli from Buffalo.

Your prompt reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dish

Hi,
Adding your spouse in your application might delay your case a bit as same background check is also applicable for your spouse as well.

Notify your visa office as soon as you marry and then send the following forms and documents.

To add spouse in the application:

Forms:

(a)  Generic Application Form for Canada [IMM 0008)
(b) Schedule A: Background/ Declaration [IMM 5669] Completed by Principal Applicant and Spouse.
(c) Additional Family Information [IMM 5406] E-Completed by the Principal Applicant & the Spouse.
(d) Schedule 3_Economic classes imm0008_3e
(e) Supplementary Information - Your travels [IMM 5562]
(f)  Fee Payment Form – Application for Permanent Residence – Federal Skilled Worker [IMM 5620]

Documents :

1. Certificate of marriage (notarized), Nikahnama, if any
2. Passport copy of spouse (Notarized)
3 Birth certificate copy of spouse translated (if not in Eglish) and notarized.
4.  6 copies photographs of spouse as per photo specification write name, DOB and date of photo taken on the back side of 5 photographs and keep 1 blank.
5. Application fee of spouse via Bank Draft
6.  Spouse's educational certificates and transcripts (original for graduate level) and mark sheets.
7. National ID of Spouse, translated (if not in English) and notarized
8. Send any other things changes after you sent full docs, If any.

Hope this has been helpful.

Similar to my previous post, RFV - which stands for Ready For Visa - is an important log by the IO w.r.t. a case where s/he finds it complete from his/her side... And notifies some other cell/dept./section to assess/act on the requested activities pending the forwarding this case file to PHEP Section (for PPR/visa issuance). This, usually, signifies that this case file is now finalized from the IO's desk.

NOTE:
1. Both, RFA & RFV may not only be marked for ECU... it could be for any other dept. as well.
2. ECU is specifically created to address the backlogs. IMHO they deep-scrutinize the files submitted to them with an intention to "eliminate" rather than "select" applications. This is a severe screening process... and I again opine that not all files go there... but why do some (go to them) is beyond me, or I do not want to comment on it.

Hello Qorax,

If the status is updated as below in CAIPS, what does it mean?
ECU – PLS REQUEST THE FOLLOWING:
-PPTS
-MEDS
-RPRF
-UPDATED POF

As per your understanding on ECU, do you think this is also for elimination/ severe screening process to eliminate.

hi sir qorax,

Please help me on this one. My Ecas status is "In Process" already,I applied together with my husband last 2010 March. I got pregnant and gave birth last May 2011. I understand that I have to update my profile as to having a child for him to be included in our application. According to our consultant since we will add our son to our application we will be required to provide additional proof of funds in our acct for addtl family member. (my son) problem is it will be difficult for us to produce such amount of money for now. Now my question is, is it possible to just update my profile as to having a child but not add him to our application just not to produce addtl funds anyway my husband and I decided to leave him to our parents temporarily if in gods willing time we land to canada for us to adjust and become stable since we dont know yet how things go in canda and it' s difficult to bring a baby if we are still in d adjustment peRiod. (i hope u got my point) we will just get him once we are stable already. Will it be a problem in the future? And if in case I will add him now,do you think it will delay the processing of our papers? What to you think is the best thing to do?
Thank you very much and I hope You'll help me on this querie.

Hi,

1. It shouldn't be an issue. He'd get the TRV if ur filing is complete & correct.
2. Around Oct-12 ur file will get into processing. There's a 2-yr wait queue for 2010 apps.
3. Not required now.
4. Get ur US legal docs organized irrespective of ur Canadian processess.
5. It won't effect anything on ur processing. No, the file might not be transferred to CHC-ND. U'd thus, have an issue in sending ur pps to ur VO for stamping. If u r Ok with that, u have no concerns.

Hi,

1. U r required to add the baby into ur file asap as per regulations. Pls don't delay it.
2. Irrespective of whether u intend bringing him along or not - u'd require to demonstrate ur complete funds for the three of u.
3. It won't delay ur processing anything noticeably.
