thank you for your quick reply Mr Q. if, as an alternative, my friend will apply as single (separated), but declares being previously married, will this still be an issue with CIC? if he can provide proof that they have not been in touch for the last 10 years, can he apply as a separated man? so that his gf/common law wife will also apply as an unmarried person.

many thanks again.

No, he can't.
For applying as a 'single' he ought to have that 'annulment' decree... for the law he continues to be married as of date.

Hi Qorax
I need urgent help. London visa office asked me to send additional documents which i have sent all. Now they asked me to send FBI certificate which they didn't ask before and gave me 90 days period. the 90 days time is going to be over on 2nd December and i haven't recieved FBI cert. FBI has charged my credit card on 8th November and i think they will take some time. So what should i do now.

Dear Quorax:

What would be the reason for 2nd AOR delay??? Lost in mail? waived? not send yet? here's my times: Applic filled: 6/2010, 1st AOR: oct/2010, e-cas showing RBVO: since Jan/2011. If inside RBVO is: you're support documents were received by VO......they're pending review, isn't that they actually acknowledge my complete application? or it is not official until get 2nd AOR? my other question is: the processing timeline is starts after complete package is received by VO (Jan/2011) or after officially got 2nd AOR?

Thanks a lot for the big help you always give to everyone!!!

No issues.

For entering Canada 'by road' from the US u don't require a PRTD. As long as u possess the stamped COPR [+pps] u'd be fine.

Send an email to your VO explaining your situation.

There's obviously a delay in your case... 1-yr hence the 1st AOR u ought to have the 2nd. U may write a query to your VO.

The processing time starts from the day your 'complete package' reached the CHC. However, the processing time declared @ the CIC website is unreliable... it might not hold good for every applicant... it's only for guidance... it'd differ case-to-case.

The PRTD can be obtained from any 'overseas' CHC. Pls check the nearest Canadian Consulate of your city.

Sir Qorax,
I have an urgent question and I need your advice please
My family and I have done our medical examinations for the second time in Aug 2011 since the 1st medical has already expired with no PPR. I sent a case status enquiry to London office two weeks ago and they replied that they received all the medicals except my wife's medicals.
I then called the DMP and he confirmed that he sent all the medicals including my wife's medical in one package and received by London in September and he gave me the tracking no. I asked him to send a copy to London and he refused unless he receives an official request from London to do so. Then I informed CHC of the tracking no and the name and address of the DMP in addition to the exact dates when we appeared for medicals and they replied that they will investigate this matter and get back to me in due course. Now, they are investigating this issue over the last two weeks with no feedback from their end.
Would you please advise what available course of actions that they may come up with and the expected time frame for such case to be sorted out? Also please advise if I have to do anything from my side for the time being other than just waiting.
Also, can they request my wife to go for another medical although this problem is not caused by us (not our mistake?)
Thanks

They probably r referring to the 'secondment' of meds from Ottawa...  probably yours have returned from there but not your spouse's, yet.

Give it a few weeks & then shoot another query to your VO.
