Dear QORAX
please reply to my queries i will be thankful to u dear.
---

Hi Doc,

1.best flight of 22-24 hour journey Delhi to Toronto with one stop?
Regrets, I've no clue, as haven't flown that sector. However, read in the forums that Jet-Air is good.

2.how i carry cash it is more than 10,000/-cad?
Don't carry 'all cash'. Split it into Draft/s-80% and Cash/TC-20%.

3.what should i do for driving license from INDIA?
Obtain a 'Letter of Authenticity' [Driver's Extract] from your MTO... u'd get a wait-time 'waiver' here. Pls read my thread on it.

4.Where one should stay as coming alone and as no relatives, what option best  for accomodation PAYING GUEST/OR APARTMENT?
Initially, pre-book a "Short-Stay Accom", probably for 2-4 weeks. Later go for longer rentals. U may like to touchbase with these guys [they r Ok, I've been using them]:
http://www.overseashome.ca/
Property Manager's email: nobindas @ yahoo.com
(U can use my ID as reference)

5.how i can have car in economical range/cheap and good condition?
Purchase a 'used-car' for the timebeing. They come cheap & in good condition too. In $3000-5000 u can get a pretty nice car here. Check the following websites:
www.wheels.ca
www.auctiondirect.ca

6.what is way to take medicines i.e must be on prescription pad of doctor or hospital?
Over-the-counter drugs r Ok to carry. For prescription medicines don't forget to bring a Doctor's Rx Chit & the Chemist's Invoice.

7.which travel insurance company is best?
Pls read my thread on "Temp. Travel Insurance".

8.shall i purchase clothes/electronics/utensils from INDIA or CANADA?
Don't buy anything from your homeland... here things r quite competitively priced. Just bring-in the usual items that u'd generally carry on an overseas trip... some clothes, personal effects, minimum electronics, laptop, camcorder etc. U may like to read my thread on "Landing in Canada".

Hope that helped.

Good luck!

Dear qorax,

The latest update on processing times for CHC London says 26 months. What does this mean for applicants who have done their medicals and are waiting for PPR?

Hello Qorax and all the participants!

I have reapplied my FSW 1122 application after falling short of cap last year.
I am a Pakistani National and my Visa Office is London and was born in the UAE
and reside here as well.

My question is:

Do CIC and London VO STILL require the original Birth Certificates of Pakistani applicants?
Since I do not have my Original Abu Dhabi BC, I got the copy notarized and translated legally.
And in order not to confuse CIC, I did not send original BCs of my wife and daughter and hence
notarized theirs as well. Would this be accepted? However, I sent my original Marriage certificate.

Looking forward to your expert feedback.

Qorax, you missed my query so again doing copy and paste Smiley sorry to bother u..

Thank you for ur quick reply and your help, Qorax... It was my first query..

confused stil whether they have accepted or not...
Because they didn't return my application, they have accepted it?
And also once the dd is encashed that means they have started viewing my application? can you please explain on this?

And also i need ask you few more questions regarding the other case... My friend husband went to canada on student visa in 2010..his visa was till nov 2010 and she applied for student dependent visa in august 2011 but her visa got rejected..and now her husband is on post graduate work permit and it will expire in nov or oct 2011 and he is in Saskatchewan...she again applied for visa in may2011 and again her visa got rejected... First time she was employed and the second time she was a housewife...right now the question is.... her husband will apply for sinp in this month, will it be okay to apply for visa once both of their name gets nominated by sinp becoz he might get an extension of work permit for 2yrs or its good to wait till her husband gets the PR??

Thank you so much

"Viewing" - YES. But whether they'd accept it - Unsure.
Let the 'friend' ask the other query.

Hello Mr. Qorax,

I did my MEDs a month ago, and basically I am expecting PPR. I have seen that VOs around the world have different paths when it comes to requesting passports.  Here in SD, they usually ask to bring passports and no later than the next day, you ge it. This is awesome... Isn't is?

I am expecting to hear from them this month....

Please share your comments..

Many VOs do accept personal visitation for 'stamping'... it's mentioned in their PPR letter. In the US VOs u get it stamped the same day... eg. Detroit - and ppl head for the border straightaway for 'landing'.

Good luck, Sir !

Qorax,

Thanks for your comments... As everybody else in this forum, I look upon you when it comes to answers...

I was asked for updated PCC for me and my wife 5 weeks ago, and I took PCCs myself to my local VO... Is this a  good sign? I supposed they are working on our security Bkgnd...
