Hi dear captan qorex,,,,,
I am a pre june 2010 applicant of the London vo. NOC 4131,college lecturer
My status is RBVO ,2nd AOR received in April 2011,
In the mean time I am planning to look for some new profession as i am interested in the areas like Nursing and welding,I want to get canadian education in one of these professions,my questions are
1  can i apply for student visa while my immigration case is on its way to be decided as yet?
2  At this stage can I get a professional education in Nursing/welding despite having Masters in completely different field i.e Education from a pakistani university?My age is 34 at the moment,did my MA in the year 2000.
3  could you plze provide some link for the admission websites of canadian universities/institutes to get admission in my areas of interest?
4 will it delay my immigration case ?
5 what will you personally suggest for me in this regard?
thanks in advance,
Ryan Niazi

a. Getting the S/visa might be difficult once your PR apps is underway.
b. Yes, u can always seek other vocations. And if u have the 'qualifying' experience - u could apply under those NOCs as well.
c. Your overseas qualifications on these trades wouldn't help in Canada.

Thanks for the info Qorax,
Now please clear this. Notarized copies of transcripts will work?

In the updated check list it says;
"original transcripts for all successfully completed studies(diplomas,certificates,degrees), if available."

It means that it's not compulsory?

and in the old check list before 18th july,2010. it was like copies of degrees etc etc, original transcripts etc.
means in the old list transcripts were not mentioned separately as in this new check list.

So what you think that if I have sent notarized copy of transcripts that I had with me will serve the purpose at least or at least they will not return the package?

1. U should go ahead with your routine life during the PR processing. Keeping the process under abeyance, as if u haven't applied. And once u get the PR... organize/change/modify everything accordingly.

2. U bet? The Canadian PR is an 'ultimate high'... the very best thing that u can ever dream-of in your life. It's blissful to reside here !

Dear All,

I wish to know-
do we have to fill IMM 5444E PR application form for only adults or for kinds below the age of 7 also?
Do one have to pay any fee for the 1st time PR card?

1. Not necessary, if u aren't doing any financial transactions & job here.
2. Your PR Status will become invalid and u might not be permitted to enter Canada.
   2(b). U don't file tax returns if u don't have residential ties here.

Qorax

thanks captain qorax.......as always you've been very helpful!!!

U don't file the IMM 5444 -- it's done online by the BSO @ POE.
The 1st PR cards r already paid for [thru the RPRF].

Dear Qorax,

What does your VO specific check-list say ?
Qorax
This is what my visa office check list says,
Quote
EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS
For you and your spouse or common-law partner:
•Post-secondary education documents: vocational or technical certificates or diplomas;
•College or university documents: certification of completion and the graduation degree, diploma, or certificate issued by the college or university and the evaluation committee;
•Transcripts: original transcripts of all degrees must be submitted in university-sealed envelopes.
Professional qualifications certificates: notarized professional qualifications certificates should be submitted if available. (e.g., Engineer, Computer Programmer, Accountant, Economist, Translator/Interpreter, Architect etc.)

but in the updated check list it says
Quote
"original transcripts for all successfully completed studies(diplomas,certificates,degrees), if available."

I am pointing out that in the old list original transcripts are must but professional qualification certificates are optional but in new list transcripts are optional...?
and in fact I sent notarized copy of transcripts as i did not have then in univ. sealed envelopes. so what do u say on it now?
will they return my application package or my VO will demand original transcripts at later stage?
Thanks for helping.

Your docs should go as per the VO specific checklist... amalgamated with the CIO checklist.

Earlier, just notarized copies of the degrees & its mark-sheets were sufficient... but lately we have seen CIC getting tough... they could do anything now if the package isn't 'complete'.

Hi Qorax, after some time...

1. I can see that you often mention 3-4 months awaiting period after submitting the Medical Report. Is that period typical for London VO only, or generally for all VOs ?

2. What is the time frame for doing the medical once received the request from VO?

3. Your help and answers are highly appreciated, and simply amazing!! Wink
