8 month or 2 year program

hi I am an MCA graduate presently working in Bangalore.
I was planning to go to Canada for a diploma program. The duration of the program is 8 months. I wanted to know what would be my chances of getting a job after my studies? I think the duration of the work permit that I get would also be of 8 months. So will prospective employers feel reluctant to offer a job in my case?
So is it better to join a course with duration of 2 years to increase the chances of getting a job?

It depends on the employer, they would prefer longer work permit.
