6 months is the AVERAGE processing time from when the visa office receives the application until a decision has been made.  No, you should not go to the visa office.  They won't see you.  You can order your CAIPS/GCMS notes (or your Canadian sponsor can) to see what is happening on your file, or you could try a Case Specific Enquiry.  But you are going to have to wait until you hear from the visa office.

While I can understand what you are going through, I dont think getting impatient will be of any use. As rjessome suggested, you can try getting your CAIPs notes to figure out the reason for the delay.

I dont know if you are aware or not, but other visa offices, such as Pakistan have a processing time of 24 months. So you can understand how much of a toll the immigration process is for them. So I suggest that you should be grateful that New Delhi processing time is far less. You will get your visa soon. Just hang in there Smiley

You should keep waiting. And it hasn't been 6 months, you filed (apparently, though I can't confirm) on March 1, so six months will be around September 1, not August 20. Besides, the 6 month average is ONLY a guideline, it's not a guarantee that you will get processed exactly at the 6 month mark!!!

The 6 month processing time starts when the file is received at ND... Your case is quite close to that..Try visiting ND in person and see what they say..
