I think you will be fine with Msc. for NOC-4121

However lets wait for answers from members who have already applied under this category with a Masters.

I am applying under NOC-4131

@  Alhamra - Congrats that you were intially given GO by Nova Scotia.

Don't worry about not having Phd.  people with Masters degree also eligible to apply under 4121 so it hardly matters, moreover CIC emphasis more on your duties that you perform that your title or qualification.....you will be fine with Masters.

phd shouldn't matter because in countries like india, bangladesh, etc, there are many lecturers, if not most, who don't have phd. Having highly qualified lecturer as a high percentage of all lecturers is common more among the west and africa. Don't worry, I think it is okay that you don't have phd.

new2canada is absolutely right....you don't need a Phd to be a professor at University, atleast not in India/Bangladesh/Nepal and other Sotuh Asian countries so you will be fine.

Good luck.

for lecturer, you don't require a PhD, but for being a professor, one should be a PhD or have at least 15-17 years of experience in industry directly related to the subject being taught along with a related Masters education.

see what matches your job duties better... 4121 and 4131 are both eligible. so, it comes to to a better match of duties...

Hi All PR aspirants under NOC 4131,

Well, I fall in the same NOC 4131.
My b/g: I am MA ( Master of Arts) , no Ph.d.and lecturer in Economics teaching Undergrad level and I applied under 4131 and got approval from Sydney.

Not sure how come other are qualifying under 4121. I guess there is a grey area when it comes to deciding between 4121 and 4131 , is that right?

Well, I am preparing my documents for 120 days one and wondering if i did an mistake on selecting the NOC category,,,I believe since NS,Sydney Okayed my app I will stick to the NOC code I selected.

Any suggestions...
