Hi,

Has anyone here been assessed by WES or any other Assessment agencies?  I heard from a friend that his 4 year B.S. computer science degree is only equivalent to 2 years diploma in Canada ( the first 2 years as secondary only and the last 2 years as diploma (pos-secondary)).

Please share your experiences.

Thanks

I don't think so,

If you have done 10+2+4(bach. degree)= 16 years, then it should be equivalent to Canadian Bach. Degree. However it mostly depends upon the country from where you obtained your degree.

For example, the Canadian Council of Professional Engineers has a Mutual Recognition Agreement(MRA) with some countries such as Australia,Hongkong, Ireland, NZ, South Africa, UK and USA. Canadian Council accepts degree from these countires as it is, without any evaluation.

However degrees from other coutries is evaluted by the Canadin authoritities for equivalancy in Canada, and mostly it is accepted for higher studies or registration.

It the Foreign degree is not equivalent to its Canadian counter part then the technical exam is imposed on the candiate.
