do mind to send me a copy of your BET! if you have it or your appeal letter sample (farpadana @ yahoo.com), I think we are in the same boat. then how was your nursing education curriculum, did you stady four years or it was a bridge from another magior.
.I studied 2 years anesthesia then bridged to Nursing for 2 more years ended to Bs degree in nursing so all together 4 years. I dont know how they will assess my education in CNO.I sent my app last november awaiting their comment.

hi carribRN..do you have a blank form of bet (oops sorry if i asked you this before)..i forgot ur reply about it..  Smiley

No i don't have as I did not photocopy the original. I typed my answers on the actual BET materials that the CNO sent to me.

how many pages po ang BET? how many months did you wait for the BET or other forms from the time you submitted you application forms like tor from school, authorization etc..
coz i already submitted my application package last november,,but until now..i didnt received
any email from them confirming that they already received my package? i am just quite bothered
because im afraid to wait for months but will just turned out to ....."waiting for nothing then have to
start again from the beginning"..

You will never get a confirmation from them if they have already received your your complete application. I don't think that's part of their protocol. You gonna have to call  or email them to inquire about that. IN my case, I sent them an email and they replied to me in details stating all the dates they have received each forms sent to them on my behalf (ex: letter from employer, from school etc.)

How long?! I tell you it took them ages to finish everything. It lasted for almost 1 year from the time I sent them the application package up to the time they have decided and approved my BET. Once they have all your papers, they will advise you to wait for three months for the assessment. After that they are going to send you the result by snail mail, which is going to take eons again for you to receive. If you are to write a BET, they are going to give you ,if I am not mistaken, one month to finish it. After you submit it, you are in for another waiting time of at least three- four months for you to receive their decision.

and..regarding your certificates and seminars..did you submit your original copies?or have it authenticated only by your employers/hopital? did you explain what you have learned from
each seminars? thank you po.

I submitted just the photocopies. Remember that they did not ask for it. I just submitted them thinking it might help them in assessing my paper.

Farpadana,

I won't be able to send you a copy of my BET as I really did not save a copy. And even if I have it and want to share it here to help, I won't be able to do it as I am not allowed by the CNO. See once the CNO approves your BET, they are going to send you a statement of confidentiality form that states you are not allowed to divulge your BET answers to anyone and that doing so could revoke your eligibility to take the exam.

As for my appeal letter, if you are not a Filipino, it won't be applicable to you as my appeal is focused on the type of BSN curriculum that we have in the Philippines.

I have a 4yr-degree prior to nursing and took up BSN for 2 years and one summer on a trimestral system (equivalent to 3years and one summer in semestral system).

It is ture that CNO need higher scoreonly 0.5 but instead they accept also General Treaining which makes a huge different.

promise? cno also accepts general training for ielts?  Shocked if its true, then il also try to take some general training after my academic ielts..

does it makes much difference jijitipie

i didnt get enough for registration in alberta, trying again in march

do u know anywhere 6.5 for speaking is acceptable.

i tried 2 times and same 6.5 both times, hopefully it will be allright next time in march

sans_may2010

hi..i dont know any regions in canada that accepts 6.5 in speaking..
i think they are strict in terms of getting 7 in speaking..
i just hope they would also accepts 6 in reading because not everybody
is not that fast in reading and doesnt have much focus in reading.,but
it doesnt mean that they have a poor comprehension. Undecided

i am again
,
i am going to try to CNO, I am worried Bcoz i don't have a university degree, neither any Sri Lankan nurses.
in Sri Lanka there are no programs available to nurses at uni,
specially i got my diploma in 2002, at that time we didn't have any of the uni programs.
any ways i have studied nursing more that 3 calander years and all the modules has covered as same as universities offer.
i hope the CNO will consider my facts..pray for me my dear.

I got 8 in both writing and reading, 7 in listening and 6.5 speaking.

No luck in the first two times with speaking 6.5 in both appearance and hope the next time will get a 7 in speaking.

But the beauty on this is Canadian Immigration considers 6.5 speaking is good enough and awards 4 points for that (highest min score), am I right ?

Thanks for your reply jijitipie

Thanks Aspire, I only declared 2 years and 9 months experience in ICU/CCU Department. It says there in my Assessment that my education is unclear that is why they ask me to have competency exam in those areas. I'm a second courser. Hope to see you in Manitoba. please keep in touch.

HI, I am a 2nd courser too, i applied in CARNA way back 2009 and it took them 6 months exactly to process my application. NOte that when i filed my application all the requirements have been submitted and received by the College within a month period.

I think assessment for both single coursers and 2nd coursers are the same, either of the two, they will still require you to take the SEC assessment coz they are very strict with their standards.

hi guys!!!

pls help me out....
