Hi Chrisdalop,

If you applied CRNE eligibility through CRNM I think your IQAS assessment will qualify you to sit for the CRNE. I am at work at present, I will post the exact words of my IQAS assessment as soon as I get home.

Just want to update everyone that my RN license in Manitoba has been approved!!! One hospital in Winnipeg has now started processing for my LMO. Now I know why my PR has been delayed. God wants me to land Canada with the RN license and an employer to work with. Praise God! God is really good!!!

Thanks Aspire, I really love your positive response. I applied at  CRNM Manitoba and planning to move there by March. Currently i'm working here at Edmonton General Hospital as Nurse attendant. Im a landed immigrant here in Alberta just a month ago. October 22 ako dumating dito at 1 month lang nareceive ko na PR Card ko kaya mag christmas vacation muna ako Pinas then balik ulit Canada ng January 1. Nagreview din ako Careerworx last september lang and Rodbryan knows you. hehehe. kinamusta kita sa kanya. Hope to see you din sa Manitoba. Sa winnipeg ako magstay aspire. Keep in touch ha. I would be glad to see you in Manitoba. God bless.

Do you have email address? Thanks ng marami.

wow, thanks for the info.Tanong kukang, what happen if you don't pass the SEC?Di ba yob SEC at bridging program the same lng?

6 months lan friend, I applied april 2009 dumating result Sept. 2009, tapos ang result nga, need to take SEC daw, then nag apply ako ng temporary resident visa in February 2010 and got denied, april 2010 i started my application as FSW (Sept. 2009 date f my SEC letter will expire in Sept. 2011)..

SEC reason - "after reviewing your file it could not be determined that you possess the knowledge and skills expected of a Registered Nurse in Alberta. Therefore, a decision regarding your application for registration as a registered nurse is pending upon the completion of Substantially Equivalent Competency (SEC) Assessment........." Sad

Sept. 2010 i decided to apply in Manitoba (CRNM), October 2010 - my application returNed due to insufficient proof of immigration status Sad

October 2010 sent an application to Nova scotia (CRNNS), November 27, 2010 (that fast!!) received the result saying "In order to determine if your education and experience has provided you with the competencies we expect of a registered nurse working in Nova Scotia we
require you to complete a general competence assessment..........
Sad

December 1, 2010, took chance in sending a copy of my PPR to Mount Royal University in order to be booked for SEC Assessment in Alberta (visa is also required to be booked for SEC), Dec. 2 MRU accept my request and booked me for July 4-8, 2011 Assessment. Smiley

Dec. 2, 2010- also tried to get a schedule for Competency Assessment in Nova Scotia (medyo natatagalang ako sa schedule ko sa CARNA), Dec. 3 - CRNNS replied and gave me a tentative date of the assessment (March 15-16, 2011, 2 days only) Smiley

CARNA or CRNNS ? = still undecided Huh Huh Huh Huh

i think pag hindi ka naka pasa sa SEC whichever field they feel like kulang mo.. thats the time they will decide on which dapt mag brdiging program ka. for example hina ka sa OB. then mag skul ka ng OB... dn it may range from 1 mos to 2 years and skuling nila depende sa pinapakuha nila sa inyu...

this answer was based on my friend whos from surrey... shes an RN already.

kimwayne, as i understand it, i can say the same as what lolabasyang said, SEC and bridging program is not the same, you will be required ony to take some bridging program in the areas where you didn't do well in ur SEC assessment, but if u did well in SEc, there's no need for bridging prog, and u can get your eligibility Cheesy

Lola basyang,

You have to ask your testing center to sent your IELTS result directly to CRNBC.( I paid them P1400 for the courier fee) Photocopy is not accepted. And they won't start to process your documents unless they have received all the required docs. Good luck...Hopefully I will hear someone is not required to do SEC coming from CRNBC. Cheesy

Thanks for the quick reply, and also for the information. My next question,do you have any idea the cost of bridging program?and just in case, are we allowed to work with pay?

Oh boy!the situation is getting tough to choice from,i though,I am o.k with Manitoba, but due to new requirements for proof of immigration, things become shady.

As side from Manitoba and Alberta, what other provinces where not strict and the process for assessment is quite short?Any suggestions?

Thanks... Huh Huh Huh Cool Cool

aspire,

congrats... Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

chrisdalop,

so you're in alberta now? what can you say about the place? and how about your work as a nursing attendant there, compared here? is it tough? and the pay, is it just ok?

good luck din sa application mo for CRNM, i hope you'll get your eligibility too like aspire..

kimwayne,

don't be discouraged...if others were able to do it...then why not we?  kaya lang, it needs perseverance, patience and finances but in the end, we will benefit all these.. Grin Grin Grin Grin

my opinion lang ha, crnm and carna are still the best options, but for you since you want to do the process together with your pr, then you can start already with carna, since crnm required a visa..

anyway, decision is still urs....God bless  Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

Hi, I copy-pasted here the list of possible courses we need to take if we are to seat for the bridging program in CARNA (only), it could be 1 or more of these subjects depending on the result of our SEC, I'm not sure in CRNM Smiley

About working - i think yes, once we get our immigrant visas, we now have the rights to apply for any kind of job we are qualified for in Canada. (permission chrisdalop) look in the case of chrisdalop, he's now working as nurse attendant Cheesy

@ chrisdalop - do you mind sharing how did you get into that job, did u applied personally or online? do we need to get a particular certificate/s to be qualified? I'm also interested to apply as nurse attendant while waiting for my SEC schedule and i'm sure ur advice will be very helpful to many. Thank you
