Hi All,
Please help......
I have worked for 2 and half years in a hospital where my original registration licence is valid. But after this I worked for a different state where the registration board is different. But I lost my 2nd registration certificate and I dont know the registration number. The 2nd registration is already expired and My original registration is valid for lifelong.
Is it mandatory to submit the 2nd registration board's verification report ?. I am planning to apply CRNM registration.
Thanks, Sja

Hi, i am pretty aware of the situation in the Philippines...i was a ci there for a year and then went here in NZ. You can actually try applying, it depends on how would you present your Job Description. If this will include a basic nursing skills, i think you can have a shot...another option is to register in a more lenient province...and then just transfer to wherever you like after a year of practicing nursing there...

That's right. No need to do a bridging program here. If you have a master's degree then I guess you won't have any problem registering in the entry level category. As I have been told, a BSN in the PH is equivalent only to their LPN's in Canada and a Masters to their BSN. It would still be a lot better though if you can lengthen your experience, especially if it's bedside, totally an added point.

hello fellow nurses! i am also applying under the FSW program and currently waiting for my MR. i received my 2nd AOR last august 13. i have applied with CARNA but i am required to take my SEC assessment. i am planning to join my friends either in saskatchewan or nova scotia. i would just like to ask if any of you have any idea which of the two provinces have a higher demand for nurses? and most likely will not require any form of assessment or bridging program like SEC in alberta? i have a master's degree in nursing, 1 year of clinical experience and more than 4 years as a nurse instructor... your opinions are highly appreciated. thank you and good luck to us all.

In my opinion, both provinces even ALberta has huge demands for RNs, Its just that they vary the way they assess applicants for CRNE

Hi, we're about on the same situation, I applied in alberta for registration but I was also referred to take the SEC, just recently, I submitted another application, this time to NOVA SCOTIA, coz I heard they are quick in prcessing applications, and yes indeed, after they received my complete docs (my last doc was received dated Nov.12, 2010), my online account states that I should wait for 8 weeks to be notified about the result ( i guess that's quite fast as compared to others, right?) However, they have new policies now which started only last Nov.1, 2010, in which you have to apply for an assessment of your educational credentials to WES instead of directly sending them your TOR, which means of course additional fee, and what makes it worst is the that the assessment fee goes up to $460 from its original $138 In Saskatchewan, one of my friends applied here in NOv. 2009, and it took her 10 months before she received a letter requiring her to update some of her docs to complete her registration, she wasn't required to take SEC nor bridging programs, though. With regards to employment, I believed things will be lot easier once we become licensed hello fellow nurses! i am also applying under the FSW program and currently waiting for my MR. i received my 2nd AOR last august 13. i have applied with CARNA but i am required to take my SEC assessment. i am planning to join my friends either in saskatchewan or nova scotia. i would just like to ask if any of you have any idea which of the two provinces have a higher demand for nurses? and most likely will not require any form of assessment or bridging program like SEC in alberta? i have a master's degree in nursing, 1 year of clinical experience and more than 4 years as a nurse instructor... your opinions are highly appreciated. thank you and good luck to us all.
