First thing you have to do is to decide which province in Canada you intend to  be registered. Once you have the decision, post it here and I will tell you the next move you have to do. Cheers!

First you have to read the link below:

https://www.crnbc.ca/Registration/RNApplication/InternationalEN/Documents/FormIntl.pdf

Actually I have never read this website as i took my nursing registration from the province of Manitoba. First research to do if your nursing degree in your home country has the equivalence to the nursing degree standards in Canada. It requires a lot of reading and a lot of consultations to people who had the experience in getting registration into the same province where you will be applying. Take note that each Canadian province has its own nursing regulating body with unique ways, standards and requirements for registration.
Happy reading!

hi.

Can an RN take CRNE via Ontario nursing board and then transfer to Alberta for job? or one would again need Alberta nursing board exams?
Is clinical exam compulsory after written(CRNE ) exam even in Alberta?

thanks

The nursing exam and the license you earn is only applicable to the province where you took the exam. It's not like in USA wherein you can transfer from state to state and only have your license endorsed.

This is a common misconception. Endorsement of license to another province is possible. CARNA and CRNM told me this.  I am currently endorsing my license from Ontario to Alberta.

Furthermore, I was told that since I already passed the CRNE and currently holding a PR status in Canada that I am considered as a local/ Canadian applicant and not as an international applicant anymore. However, being educated overseas, CARNA still required for an IELTS result to be submitted.

Hi Aspire! Still in the Caribbean. How about you? When are you moving?

Just thought of endorsing my license to Alberta as early as now since my IELTS will be expiring in August this year. One more thing, I can't remember if it's the same in the US, but if I remember it correctly, in the US once you endorse to another state your license will automatically be inactive from the state where you are moving away from as US nurses can only hold 1 active license at a time. In Canada it's different as we can hold multiple license from different provinces at a time. Downside to this is the cost to maintain it. I am only doing this now as a back up so if ever I can't find a job in Ontario at least I can aways look for jobs somewhere else.

Regards.

Still in KSA, but on June 6 we will be going home to the Philippines and on June 26 we will fly to Canada via VAncouver. I made my own little research, and I have learned that nursing license in one province is not automatically recognized in another province but it is endorsable. Certain process will be undertaken. When i took CRNE in Winnipeg, I was given the chance to be interviewed in one of the hospitals there and with God's grace i was hired. In my opinion, if you are a Canadian RN in a not so immigrant destined province, chances of getting hospital work is higher than in Toronto and Vacncouver. Hope to see you in Canada? REgards.
