Hi I'm RN too, I have pending registration in Alberta coz I was referred to take SEC Assessment before the eligibility, you said you're already eligible in Manitoba, did you took SEc also? You see, I'm thinking of applying to where it is more lenient when it comes to assessing eligibilty, coz I can't offord to waste time/money with this SEC, bridging program or whatsoever once I get to Canada, I'd like to take CRNE right away and work. By the way, where are you from and where did you practiced your nursing, maybe it has something to do with your eligibility? Hello, It's nice to see RNs on the board.
I am too an RN. Waiting for our medical.
I already have my eligibility under CRN Manitoba which will expire April 2010. I hope that we get our Visa prior to the expiration of my eligibility.

hi ifti! nice another one for BC!! so where in BC are u planning to stay? and what's ur NOC? sana we can one time meet up in BC noh.. hay that would be nice. saan kna sa application mo? pero for now, visa muna i m registered nurse with speciality in many areas including hyperbaric nursing. and currently being refrred for sec at kwantlen by crnbc . worried what will happen in assessemnt anyone who can advice some book for preparations thanx |

I've been trying to browse every Q&A in this forum to regarding this, should you received some answerS please kindly post it here, I have a pending application in CARNA but I think it is still a very long way to go since I was referred to SEC, so now I'm thinking of applying to other College of NUrses where I don't have to go through SEC anymore. Thank you is there anybody here applying in Saskatchewan? I heard they also approve IEN without going through the SEC nor bridging programs.... anyone?  |

Hi... my classmate in college who lives in calgary, alberta now was not able to take the CRNE because CARNA did not approved her application, Instead she was referred to SEC wherein you will have the exam both oral n written also regarding to all the procedures in Canada. Right now, she enrolled into some bridging programs (i dnt knw how many subjects there are) i think its based from the SEC as to how many subjects ul take... thats all I know. CARNA is strict... mannitoba is linient but u have to have ur PR visa. SAskatchewan is damn slowin approving applications. there are lots of pending since last year. Ontarion, BC are strict as well. |

Thank you Michaelantiola, actually I'm not afraid to take the SEC Asssesment per se, what I'm afraid of is the amount of money that I may have to spend for that, I don't think I can afford to go through some bridging program without any source of income in Canada LOL,, anyway thank you again, and about the PR requirement in Manitoba, do you think they will accept documents such as my request for Medical or request for RPRF as proof that I have pending application for PR?

hi CarribRN, bubbles and friends,
Nice to hear from you again. Now I have the chance to get to read your posts again coz Im settled na. Right now, I am waiting for CNO to finish my assessment. Im hoping they finish it before November so Ill hae time to catch up with RPN licensure for next year if they decide to let me take RPN licensure and better yet take RN licensure. Guys, Im not letting your feelings down pero nahihirapan ako makakuha ng nursing job. Its a good thing my husband was able to work agad kaya di nababawasan ang show money namin.
kapit bahay ko ang nursing home dito.all they offer are volunteer works. A piece of advice, finish assessment or kahit umpisahan man lang before kau punta dito. This is just my personal opinion. I stay in Mississauga and I dont know if other territories offer the same.

A guide cna be purcase at CRNE website but its a bit costly but anyone in canada can by it for you and sent it will be more cheaper .... sorry i dont have any MCQs book so far looking for one if got it will definetly post it on forum |
