My husband just got a letter today requesting another state clearance even though we did submit it at the time we sent in the application.

Is this normal? Why would they be asking for another one? They returned his birth certificate and did say that medical was received.

Sept 17: started processing the application: E-Cas: In process
Oct 15: request for another state clearance - medical received, original documents returned

Hi gypsygirl, not sure if this is normal. Did you get the original clearance three months prior to submitting your application or could it have expired?? Just a thought!!

My husband was asked for a 2nd police certificate after they requested his passport. Our case was processed through New Delhi. The original PCC was a day or 2 short of being 3 months old when it was received by CIC and nearly 6 months old when they requested the 2nd one. So it was either because of that or because there was a corrected typo on the original. They never answered us when we wanted to know why a 2nd PPC was requested. I wouldn't worry about why it's being requested. Just get it done and send them what they want. Your application will just be sitting there until you do as they've asked.

Hey gypsygirl

My husband's Application is at the New delhi office, and 2 months into his application he was asked to submit the police clearance again although we had submitted it at the time we sent in the full package. we never found out the reason for the 2nd request..but we just had to send it in..
so am guessing this happens to more than one of us...

hope this helps

Hey guys,

Thank you for the responses. Hi Whoppi Smiley. We did get the clearances beforehand, as soon as we got them the application was submitted. As a matter of fact we delayed submitting it until the clearances came back so they were fresh. That's why it's so frustrating. Plus, we emailed the consulate to find out what we did wrong but they were no help. Another few weeks... again.

Ya it sucks, but you're not likely to get an answer as to why. For all you know, they could have lost the 1st one but they're certainly not going to tell you that! ;-) Just get it in so your file can move forward.
