Hi All,
Most of those applied under H1-SRS ABPNP are under the NOC 2171. I read in another forum in this site that this has been removed from the latest NOc list at CIC. Is this true? How will this affect all of us?

It is a great question first. It will not affect us at all. To make you clear, There are two types of Under Pressure Occupation. Some are Province specific and Some are National. Therefore Once, somebody is nominated He/She is supposed to fill that province specific need. Let's say Alberta needs DivaGirl because they have IT Analysts and testing profession under pressure but Canada needs only System Managers because it is national need. Therefore once you are nominated, you should party. that's it.

There are two types of lists as Albertagoverner has put them very well. One is province specific and one is national/federal. 2171 is not in the list of national/federal occupation in demand in Canada (there are only 38 of them), but it is still there in Alberta specific list. Most of the people in this forum applied under 2171 beacuse they are going through the AINP, not the federal/national process.

Alberta website states; An updated version of the AINP Occupations Under Pressure List was posted on May 19, 2009. Any applications postmarked on or before May 19, 2009 will be assessed based on the previously posted list. All applications postmarked after May 19, 2009 will be assessed based on the list currently posted. It means that they no longer accept the AINP (SRS H1-B) applications with NOC code 2171 (starting May 19). But the applications mailed on or before May 19 are valid even if their NOC code is 2171. There are other NOC codes they removed. You'll find more information in the thread below. http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/new-ainp-occupations-under-pressure-list-posted-on-may-19-2009-t19258.0.html

How it is possible to make a difference in skill need of province and Country?. Country was looking for IT managers 0213 and Province was looking for 2171? Which means that once somebody moved under PNP program He/She will not be working anywhere else except Alberta all of his life just because Alberta needs 2171 but canada needed 0213?

Hi,
I have seen it is still there. Please tell I am really confused as one of my NOC is 2171.
On the Site we have which shows:
Unit Group 2171 Information Systems Analysts and Consultants Information systems analysts and consultants conduct research, develop and implement information systems development plans, policies and procedures, and provide advice on a wide range of information systems issues. They are employed in information technology consulting firms and in information technology units throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed.

Probably you are not looking at "AINP SRS US Visa" NOC list. Check Alberta's official website. Here's the link: http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/media/h1b_AINP_Occupations_Under_Pressure_List.pdf

People who have their applications post marked on or before 5/19 will be evaluated based on the old list. If you have applied before 5/19 (I believe divagirl applied before 5/19) you should be fine.
