2010/2011- how long to get the medical app?

Hello everyone,

I have no clue in whats going on and what are the "normal" standards in the "waiting" process but here is my case and hopefully someone can help explaining to me if i should start worrying or not.

Quebec paper work process went fairly fast and after that phase was done it was time for the federal process:

sent files to the federal through the embassy in Damascus
Feb 21 2010 (got the bar-code) and a confirmation that my file was received,
now been almost 16 months since last contact and no medicals yet in spite that the CIC time-frame states 19 months for the entire process (federal only),
my status is "In Process" .

i am sure i have not covered reading all the forums but most of those i read people stated that they got their medicals between 6-12 months at most,
if anyone can advise or have a similar case to share please do.
