Currently i am having manual indian passport and i have obtained my visa from the London CIC office on it.So,this is news to me that CIC is insisting on machine readable passports.

yes my friend and I visa office is london. we are working here in abu dhabi.

Generally speaking the general background is done before the medical and the security check after the medical. After the medical you will hopefully you will receive PPR after 1.5 to 2 months.

All,

We went for medicals on 4th Nov 2009, and received our request for passports on Friday 16th April. We have 60 days to send, and PR Visa expires on 4th November 2010 - ie 1 year from date of medicals.

Hope that helps some people who may still be waiting and wondering as we were. Here's hoping the aviation situation here in the UK changes soon!!

This is strange to me. I know many who are London applicants who just received PPR's were not required to submit machine readable passports. This may be new, or maybe they require this in some nationalities. May I know what is the nationality of your friend? Thanks.

As I had withdrawn my last application in June 2010 and got an official letter in Sept. 2010  from CIO for getting refund in 4-6 weeks but still no reply.pls. tell me CIO mailing address and e-mail address.
Secondly,October 2010 of London applicant?hav they got Medical request?
