2 sisters already citizens. planning to apply myself now

hi.
i have an indian passport and reside in india currently. im thinking of applying for canadian immigration now.
i have 2 sisters who along with their children and husbands have canadian citizenship.
one of them has moved back to india, while the other still resides in toronto.

i along with my wife pass the points system very well. both are post-grads. i have u.s. post-grad degrees and have work experience there as well. i can do so-so with french as well.

i found all paperwork to be pretty straight-forward too. but i do have a couple of questions before i apply for this.

1. if at all possible, will it be faster if my sister in toronto submits my paperwork there? or do i just submit from mumbai office?
2. how long does it take for the whole process to finish from scratch? 2 years? 5 years? when applied from toronto or from mumbai.
3. what if i apply, but by the time my interview etc comes through i have a kid - will there be problems faced in immigrating with the child who wasn't present when immigration was initially filed?
4. are there any helper websites? im not looking for consulting, just some kind of work flow guidance to be better organized with clear cut steps/forms/etc mentioned.

This dicussion forum it self will give you lot of guidance and information. Just take little time and revew the posts!!.
Regarding your question about time, my opinion is that, it may take  5 years or more even though your sister apply for a spnsorship for you. I suggest you do it yourself directly as skilled worker/professional imm. category. You may get additional points as your relatives are citizens. Then about your would be child, you can include later after birth.

sorry, i forgot to mention - yes i intend to apply as skilled worker/migrant.
just joined this forum, so will be going through it in detail very soon - maybe over the weekend.

question:
can i prepare paperwork for skilled worker and then send it to my sister in toronto who will submit it there? will that speed up things? although i doubt they allow this kind of submission.

also, for skiller worker - what are the approximate processing times to have the whole thing done?

Can a sibling sponsor another? I am not sure if this is possible unless the person doesn't have any relatives in Canada.

Anyway, even if it is possible, skill worker is a good option. Should take less than 6 months from Delhi.

Do you have a job experience from the minsiterial list?

If you have a kid, at that point, you should let CIC know and they will update your information. Of course, you let them know and send in the relevant documents too.

If you get your PR and then you have a kid before you land. They will cancel your old visa stamp and then issue you a new one but this is quick. THis is what i read on this forum at least.

2. how long does it take for the whole process to finish from scratch? 2 years? 5 years? when applied from toronto or from mumbai. From New Delhi, it generally takes upto 6 months for the approved cases. Some cases since 6 months seem pending, though. Applying from New Delhi would e a better option

If you intent to do it yourself, it is highly recommened to go throught the EG7 guide once. The guide is downloadable from www.cic.gc.ca

i hope you know that you don't qualify under Family Class sponsorship because brothers or sisters, nephews or nieces, granddaughters or grandsons who are orphaned, under 18 years of age and not married or in a common-law relationship can be sponsored. Your sister can fetch you 5 points for adaptability, which I guess you don't need.

So, your best option is FSW-1. Your job needs to be on the ministerial list of 38 jobs.

i was under the impression that a IT professional could immigrate with ease only thing is that it takes a long time to happen. 6 months actually sounds very good to me.

i am handle a team of database administrators with a leading financial company. i have about 8 years of experience in that line. now is this a good thing or bad thing?

There is only one NOC: 0213 for IT professionals. You can check if your requirements match with that of 0213.
