Hi fellows,

While going thr'u all requirements, I got stuck at 2 stumbling blocks & need advice on them:

1. Original transcripts in University-sealed envelopes??

I've original transcripts which any student would have. But the issue is I've been out of my home-country since last 10 years and it's very hard to approach and obtain them from my Institute in my home-country. So can I just send all the transcripts those I've or what's the alternative or way out to this issue? This “university-sealed” condition is the killer.

2. Original & Up-to-dates reference letters?

I've worked in different countries and got experience letters upon changing my job. I can get all required details of my current job but in case of past jobs, there is no way. The first Co. where I worked way back in 2000 doesn't exist anymore..!! What to do in case of past jobs?

If I can't remove these hurdles, I am sure my application would be rejected and there remains no good reason to push it any further.

To the best, can I enclose an explanation letter along with my application in case of my inability to arrange any required document or evidence?

Now it all depends upon your advice on “what's the acceptable alternative” to these issues?

deep regards

Hi,

I am also out of country for some time and was not able to get the official transcripts and up-to-dated ref letters. This is what I did:

Transcripts:
Took color photocopy of the original mark-sheets, got them notarized and sent it. My lawyer said it will work

Ref Letters:
I got the latest letter from the current company. No issues

For past companies, I got the old ref letters, pay-slips, joining letter, promotion letter (whatever I had to show I worked there) - notarized and sent as proof.
My lawyer said it will work as there is no way for me to reach out to the old company.

My application has been approved. Hope this helps

Thanks,

Dear  Alias,

You reply is a golden ray of hope amidst clouds of doubts & apprehensions.

My last question is - did you submit any additional letter to explain/clarify why your couldn't submit original transcripts sealed in University-envelope and ref. letters from your old employers as per CIO requirements or your just submitted notarized copies of them?

Above all, my big thanks and best wishes to you~

Thanks manny

Did you send notarized copies or only simple photo-copies?
I'd keep in my mind not to forget submitting an explanation letter along with my application.

Also can you advice me on PCC?  I know it's not required to submit to CIO as per new rules but it'll  be submitted directly at VO at the later stage.
But then there is a condition that it must to be more than 3 months old. So when is the right time to have PCC ready in hand??

My understanding is that they are more looking for reasons to accept our application than they are looking for reasons to reject it. Thus for any hurdle that you can't remove write a detailed explanation letter with others supporting documents on why you can't actually overcome the obstacle.

Hi Rana, Do Notarise the photocopy and dont forget to mention what the copies are of...

I have sent my PCC..though I have started process. CIC require from me my Indian and Australian PCC...later requires finger printing so got on board already...

I had included a covering letter explaing why my transcript for Mumbai Uni not there...but also said photocopy of old transcript included and passing certificates along with marksheets foe each year included. I had an old letter from uni professor confieming my degree being of three years...I included a notirised copy for the same...

Hope this info helps...do mark each explanation with 1,2 3 etc

This will help them to go through the appication quickly with maximum info out there...

All the best

Thanks Manny...

I'd follow all advices given.

Again, I am not very clear about PCC, when is the right time to start doing it. As I mentioned before, as per new rules, CIO doesn't require it but local VO will as for t when CIO transfers one's case to it.

So considering that PCC must not be more than 3 months old while submitting it to local VO, when is the approx. right time to start collecting it.
E.g. if I start doing PCC right now and by the time CIO examines my file  and transfers my case to local VO (singapore), 3 months may already be over and PCC no more remains valid.

As I heard that VO gives period of 3 months to submit all required documents and if I again try to get new PCC and if I can't arrange them with 3 months period, my case may be rejected.

So I need to be little bit more clear on when shall I start arranging my PCC?

It asks to submit original Transcripts of all Degrees in a University sealed envelope.
Are certificate and Diploma courses part of it?

In my understanding, degree covers only a Graduate and above levels and not a Diploma or a certificate course

Actually I did both Certificate and Diploma prior to my Degree.
But it's hard to arrange their original transcript in a sealed envelope because currently I don't live in my home country.

I hope that attested transcripts of Certificate and Diploma course should be acceptable.

Any opinion
