I am planning for 1st time landing. Do I REALLY need to carry CAD 16,580 (for a 3 members family) as it is mentioned as minimum fund?
In fact I will stay there only for a few days and return back after applying the PR card, SIN and any other necessary tasks.

Seniors, please kindly share your knowledge in case of carrying short amount than it is required.

Hi,

Congrats for future journey.  But you have to show full amount of funds as asked for whether you stay there for one week or one year.  They are not concerned about your period of stay in Canada.  You need not tell the immigration officer at the port of entry that you are planning a short stay or you will come back after getting PR Card.  Just answer the questions asked for and give your friend's name and address for delivering PR Card.

All The Best.
