Boss i had the same problem last year but i approached the officials directly who deal with overseas transactions. They get the updates from Bombay head office. It all depends how strongly you persue them....they are not very cooperative and will try to give u evasive replies. I went to them last year and just in couple of hrs they called me back and let me know the status of my BD. I think u also need to do the same. All the best

Hi everyone!
This is my second time applying.
First time was rejected because cap had already been reached...
I received back the whole application package and my BD , 1 month and 10 days after the date they received in CIC my application.
I took my BD to the bank in my country and they refunded /deposit the money back to my account.
This time , my application was received on the 4th of July, and I havenīt received any feedback at all from CIC, but I guess no news is good news till now.
Good Luck to all of you!

Regarding encashment of BD sometimes bank people think that you are asking regarding when your account was debited

for e.g you made a BD from your bank on July 8, then offcourse your account was debited on the same date !!! and they told you that! however your application was reached on July 13!! I think this might be teh confusion for the first time with you.

Secondly at times bank people dont want to do work for you and they say casually that yes, it was encashed. Sometimes this is their casual answer!

In real terms really for many people it is hard to know from the bank that their BD is encashed or not!! To get the correct answer one should also put a proper question to them like " whether my BD # ____________ dated ________is encashed/cleared/debited from your BANKs Treasury Section" (not from applicant's account, but from bank's account)

Never ask whether it is recived by Receiver General of Canada! They wont tell u this, but there are chances that they will tell you that it is debited from bank's account, which offcourse means that it is credited in Receiver general 's account

Satish

Your case is very strange really! Hope this is true and good luck to you .......... But i asked with the Branch Manager of my Bank (Foreign Bank) few days back and he told me that clearance of BD takes minimum 3-5 days. Even in case of international remittance it takes at least 1-2 days. Not only this but even in the same country, clearance of crooss cheques, pay orders and such instruments takes atleast 1-2 days

Moreover, CIC also takes atleast few days in reviewing the application, especially in the order, the applications are received!

R u sure that date was 15th July, not 15th August, when the BD was presented!

If its true then its really a sort of miracle

My application is received on 14 july too!! I will also check with my bank regarding my BD tomorrow or on Monday!!

Tonaki

I dont think you are right!! There is a difference in BD & TT and probably you are talking about TT or direct transfer of mony to the account!!!!!

BD BANK DRAFT OR DEMAND DRAFT DD is just like the Cross Cheque--- issued by the Bank rather than the individual. Bank deduct the amount from your account and does not transfer unless the BD is presented by the benefciary. It generally have the expiry of 6 months! If they doest not have branch in Canada they have arrangement with some corresponding or clearing bank in Canada for the clearance of their BD.

TT TELEGRAPHIC TRASFER or remittance is transfer of money internationally from one account to the other account!! Corresponding or Clearing bank is also involved in it many times. Account XXX will be debited and Account YYY will be debited. There is no hold in between

On the other hand BD or DD can be hold by the person for 6 months generally and money remains in the account of the Bank who signs and stamps the BD, till the time recepient present it into his bank!!!!!

Dear Friends at this site.

I have received the following email from CIC office.

Your application # is E000033793.  Your file is currently awaiting assessment.  Notification will be sent in due course.

What does it mean for me.

Whether CIC would have charged DD at this stage

Dear Rakop

Upto my knowledge, file number is assigned once your application is inside the CAP / quota and after your fees is already charged
I think now they will assess your application, untill you receive PER or 1st AOR. But let us know:
What is your NOC?
when ur appli reached there?
your fees is charged or not --- check with your bank (cc or bd)?
what u asked in the email from them?

Hi 1122Khan11
His applicationw as received on the 7th, search for his posts, I found this:
I have applied on 2nd of July and my application reached there on 7th of July.

Can i expect that my application would be accepted.

Can i know wheteher the process of selection is First come first serve basis or the best applications received.

if the best applications received, then they may consider the candiates with high points more than 67

A good question for Rakop would be When did you send the email to CIC and when did you get the answer with the Application Numer E0000xxxxx?

My understanding, and the operations manual should confirm this unless it has changed very recently, is that your payment is not cashed until AFTER the completeness check has been done.

Therefore anyone whose payment has been taken is safely through the completeness check and therefore within the cap.

Wayne.

I am agreed with Wayne....

Thanks buddy !! Smiley
