On the reciept of payment (via the internet) it says to add your "Client ID"  
what is ment by this? and where can I find my ID? or does this just mean passport # etc.

Your client ID looks like xxxx-xxxx .  If you were issued a document by CIC, then it is on the document.  If you have never been issued a document, then you don't have one.
