I understand the process is to some levels dfferent ??

Is it better, faster, longer, easier ?? what are the differences ??

I can be wrong, but from what I have noticed, sponsors living in Québec have a longer wait than the ones living in other provinces/territories, because they need the approval from the CPC and also the approval of Québec, while the other ones (like me!) need only from the CPC. I have two friends that just finished their process, one outside Canada and the other inside Canada, the two are in Montreal. Both applications took a longer time than our friends from BC, AB, ON, NWT... But each case is different, so I can't say everyone goes through the same. The difference I can see is only that additional part. Smiley

Hi,

I sponsored my Husband through Quebec, and it took the same time as other provinces.
The difference with Quebec is another $250.00 for the Selection Certificate application where you have to prove your Quebec residence among other things. Once you are approved by the CIC your application is forwarded to the foreign Embassy as well as to Quebec, and you will then be sent the packet. It takes about 6 weeks for the approvel process for the Quebec part. The only thing that could cause a delay is there is a box on the CIC application that if you check will add an extra 2 months to the processing time waiting for the Quebec approval. If the box is not checked there is no delay.

Also on the Federal application there are a few financial forms you do not need to complete if you are in Quebec. It states which ones on the application itself.

I found the process easy and without problems.

Good luck
